hey guys I got married 2 years back but it wasn't official because my husbands PR file was already into pool as a single now in 2 months I am doing court marriage for marriage certificate. I just want to ask that I am going to apply for spouse visa so can I use my old marriage pic( there is slide difference in body) or is there any issue I can get, I am going to show that I got married recently as per marriage certificate.

A minor difference shouldn't be an issue.

Are you planning on saying that the photos from two years ago are recent? Or are you planning on including the old photos and stating they are two years old but that the marriage wasn't official.

I would not to the first one. Lying about the date of a picture could land you with a misrepresentation ban.

The second one is fine.

Sorry, I still don't understand.

Are you asking if it's OK to take photos from 2 years ago and say they are from your marriage now? If so, I definitely would not do that. That is misrepresentation and if it's caught, you could be banned from Canada for 5 years.

It depends on circumstances of your relationship (and to some degree, background i.e. country and traditions) and so no-one can say without more information.

-If you had religious wedding (if this is what you meant by your 'non-=official' wedding a few years ago) and then have been living together ever since, shouldn't be a problem. Show both ceremonies and just explain.

-If your relationship is an arranged marriage and you got 'unofficially' married a few years ago and nothing since, completely different situation.

In-between situations: it depends.

I know almost nothing about your situation, esp which country (which might be important for cultural reasons, but if I understand correctly:
-you had religious wedding and not civil - and after the religious you resided together for ~two years.

-YOU COULD APPLY ANYWAY AS COMMON LAW.

-Go ahead and have your civil (court) wedding, and show pictures from both weddings, with the dates they actually happened. Explain this all in a short letter of explanation.

-also show information showing you lived together.

Note: I'm assuming you did not become legally married OR become common law (12 months residing together beginning the date you resided together) before he became a PR (before he landed or received the status of PR).

If he became a PR before either of those dates, you have far bigger problems because he did not disclose you as his spouse. The date of 'being in the pool' does not matter, but the date he became a PR.

Further note: country/culture may be important so my comments tentative. Where was the religious ceremony/what religion/where will you do the court wedding? Where have you been residing together?

Again, the photo is NOT as important.
The real important question is when your spouse landed as PR, have you and him lived together for 12 months or more.

If you got religiously married and moved in 2 years ago, unless your spouse landed or got his COPR for over 1 year ago, he had a common law spouse and didn't update his status while landing. It is a far more important question than that old wedding photo.

You cannot lie anyway (mispresentation) so regarding to the photo, include that as part of the relationship proof (put in actual date and where it was taken). But I think that most people would want a photo of their court marrige even though it's small. It's something to remember.

I have a question and I hope you can help me.
My husband and I applied online on April 18, 2022 for Outland Spousal Sponsorship, but my police certificates were issued on January 19 and were only valid for 90 days, that is, they expired on the 19th. Will I have a problem with the issue of these certificates? Or will they be accepted despite having only applied hours before expiration?
Any experience or advice on resubmission of such documents from an IRCC request would be appreciated.
