Hello,

Im currently in Canada visiting my boyfriend (Canadian citizen) since december. My current status is Visitor. I had been in the IEC Working Holiday (from Spain) pools since September 11. In January 24th I recieve an invitation to apply. Sent all the required documents by February 10th. February 11th I get the Biometrics Colletion Letter for the Open Work Permit. That same afternoon I get the Biometrics submitted in a Service Canada Center in Quebec.

Everywhere I read it says a decision will be made in within the following 56 days but nothing has happened yet. I would like to get the Port of Entry before my visitor status expires.
Can anyone who applied recently to Working Holiday share their timelines? Thank you very much.

Current processing times are just a few weeks. So your application is taking longer than normal.

It may be adding complexities to your application that you've applied from within Canada. Spain is one of the few countries where you are required to have residency in Spain to qualify. Did you indicate your current or mailing address as being within Canada?

I indicated as current mailing address my home in Spain because I am just visiting here temporarily as a tourist.

Unfortunately there's really nothing you can do but wait. We have seen people run into issues previously when they have applied while visiting Canada (or while not in Spain). You'll just have to wait and see what happens.
