Oh!
I applied for CSQ on April 2008 and then went through a kind of family issue that dragged me down to May 1st 2009 before I got the certificate. It took me another 8 months before applied for federal. A total of 800 days to make it happen...Cheers,

If you can read French, take a look on this: http://www.micc.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/recherches-statistiques/BulletinStatistique-2010trimestre1-ImmigrationQuebec.pdf

yes, my interview was in NY the same day i got my certificate. Are you preparing for an interview?
Cheers,

Another holyday on both sides (Canada/USA). I am sure that on Ottawa side, VO will be off from July 1-4, while Detroit, New-York etc… will be off from July 3-5. I am convinced that this will slow down our friends’ application procedures. Even though it’s not good I wish you all Happy Canada day and happy 4th of July. Relax it is a good time to be away from your pc.

no, not yet. havenot received anythiing new from them.

Shahi

Thank you all, I got the visa today.
Good news for those already in Canada: If you are legally living in Canada and got the PR visa, you can now change you status to PR by calling 1-888-242-2100 and setup and appointment.
Cheers,

hi everybody !
I'm very happy to see special quebec thread.
I've applied for csq on aug 2007 but I was rejected because of 2 points less. and then I 've tried in fedrall and I got AOR however I withdraw my application . Now again I'm planning to apply for CSQ.
but I'm very much afraid of points system given by quebec goverment.
when I do self assignment we pass easily and score higher than pass marks but they didn't give points which we deserve.
when I applied my I have 1 babuy under 12
and I did master degree in computer science.
they gave me 4 points from children but it didn't add in passmarks and didn't give any points from area of training.I 've got only 55 points. they coated that children points are only added after getting passmarks. this is only for my case or it happen in other too.
if you guys has any idea what had happend to my case please share it.

I am not sure but I truly believe that seniors will come and help you through.
Suggestions: Dear friend please kindly consider the following points before apply:
1. Migrate to other country is always one of the biggest projects (challenges) in our live so early on, make sure that you really want to do this and nothing can stop you to get where you want to be.
2. Please, take your times to read instructions and follow them as indicated on the CIC home page.
3. We have a lot of wonderful friends here, ready to assist and encourage you through the procedure: Some are like lawyers who know everything about the immigration procedure. You will find that some are better than lawyers. Others are here just to guide and support your project in your difficult times when you are down emotionally. They know what you want and they will give it to you when you need it, you just have to ask for it.
4. Once you start the procedure and you get the chance to visit this forum, I warranty you that all the forces that you need to get to your destination are behind you ready to see you with your visa. In that particular moment, I will encourage you not to withdraw your application. Please, follow the procedure until the end, if major problem surfaced; ask for help on this forum before taking any kind of action. You will be amazed how friends are ready to assist you and the better part is for free.
5. Apply, withdraw and reapply is possible but it complicates your application since you have to explain why you withdraw the first application and if the VO did not like your reasons you will end up with rejection or your case will take the painful “long waiting road”.
Remember that if you look inside your heart, there is a hero waiting for you to face difficulties and he will show you how in life there is no mountain that you cannot claim.
Take care,

Thanks to all my friends on this forum.
I made it through the darkness of the night. Yesterday I got the visa as well as my landing document.
I am grateful to God and to all my friends here without whom I will not be able to make it.
I truly believe that it is difficult to wait but remember that at the end, the rewards are greater than the pain you suffered from the waiting period.
If you are on the waiting list, keep your chin up and be happy. Enjoy fully any day that God gives you, with a sense of gratitude happing that the good news will come from CIC.
Cheers,
