Yet Another India PCC Question

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before. For an Indian PCC, what happens if the address on my passport no longer exists?
I am an NRI and will be applying from outside India if that makes a difference.

Also, I understand if we apply from outside India via the Embassy, we get a generic PCC, without any specific dates, cities, states mentioned. So we don't need a separate PCC for each differnt city/state lived in, right?

Don't worry. Just get a PCC from consulate, It is fine even without any address or state. It is for whole part of india.

When you apply at the embassy, the form asks for a present address in India. You can give any address where you parents or siblings reside in India if applicable. They said verification will happen - so far nothing. I was in the same situation - address on passport is a old one and no one resides there. Gave my parents address and no one has turned up so far. Got my PCC in 1 week - so no issues. - applied at the embassy in Atlanta, USA

Regarding address history in India, even PSK issued PCCs in India do not have any addresses or dates mentioned on them.

Consultate suggestion above, works I reckon! But, PSK issued PCC does have address and date/tenure of stay etc!

Are you sure? PSK PCC is address agnostic and applies all over India - and they do not ask for address history. That is my understanding. Only PCCs issued by police authorities are valid for a jurisdiction.

I second @karthik2479 here, PSK PCC does neither have address nor date/tenure of stay.

PSK PCC does neither have address nor date/tenure of stay and which is a good thing. Address specific PCCs are trouble if you have lived at different addresses in the past. So this is fine.

A query here. One of my friend get PCC rejection, mentioning address details and date since when residing is not mentioned in PCC. He get his PCC from PSK. Can anyone here have any idea on this.

We have to see the PCC and his address history before making any comments - seems strange since as has been confirmed PSK PCCs do not have any address details mentioned on them. So there is no way CIC will ask for it - they cannot and do not dictate the content since it beyond their control - so the reason seems very doubtful. Please provide more details.
