I just want to know what does "verification call" mean?

And what for ?

In process, what does it mean and at the same time they ask you for medicals and 490 cad fees ?

They sent it through registered post which they booked on 22nd of July-10 and reached to my home at Faridabad on 24th of July-10.

Verification Call mean that they called me to inquire my name, my job and my current employer etc. just to know about authenticity of my profile which I put in immigration forms. In process mean my file is eligible for processing and after coming my status from "Received by visa office" to "In process" on the same day i.e. 13th of May-10. And they asked medical and RPRF 490 Cad and Passport request on 1st of June-10.
