I got a ticket of wrong parking (obstructing traffic from other side). Will this be considered a criminal act under the law of Canada?

Will it affect my background checks?

you were not arrrested by police and no fir against you so this is not a criminal offence

A similar offence in California resulted a court citation to one of my friend who later have to pay the fine and attend a traffic class. However this being his first citation and a minor one was not recorded as a criminal history in his public file. He did not have any trouble in getting the Canadian PR.

This is not an issue. I'll be surprised if the officer himself has never received a traffic ticket :)

Hi

Minor Driving offences ( speeding tickets /obstuction) unless serious ie convicted in a court of a DUI or involuntary manslaughter etc, are as ankit said not an issue.

I don't think so. Don't worry about it.

No worries. There are basically 2 types of laws: criminal and regulatory. Most driving laws are regulatory (very few, such as driving while impaired, are criminal in Canada). Parking violations are regulatory infractions, not criminal.

Speeding, parking tickets are not a crime if you not arrested by Police.
I have 2 tickets for speeding (1 in California, 1 in Nerbaska), no problem at all.
