Hello everyone,

my mom just got her CoPR, but the marital status is wrong. It appears as married, but she's divorced. What should we do? Send it back to IRCC in home country?

Thank you,.

Check your forms that you submitted initially. Maybe you did a typo. Did you provide any paperwork to prove that she's divorced. If you made a mistake while submitting and if you send it now for correction, maybe they'll consider it as misrepresentation. Check on your end first before send anything back to them. Maybe it's a mistake on their end but you make sure everything is right from your end first.

Once your mom entered Canada with that CoPr it will become misrepresentation. Better correct it now.

Must be corrected. Send in webform with proof of divorce if you haven’t submitted it before. Your mother’s COPR must be correct before landing.

Thank you for your reply. I've rechecked everything and it's all correct in the application. No typos, no wrong selection. We also sent her divorce certificate when requested.

Thank you for your reply. We already submitted the divorce papers a while ago. I'm filling a web form now.

Just to give everyone an update. This what we did:
- Reviewed all documents sent up until today to make sure we didn't make a mistake. We did not.
- We've followed the instructions that came in with the CoPR and contacted the visa office that issued the CoPR by email.
- Got an automated reply telling to use the webform.
- We used this webform linked on their email https://ircc.canada.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp
- The webform allows you to include files after submit, so we included the divorce certificate again (same one sent before)

Still waiting to hear back.

Perfect. They made a mistake, and they'll fix. Happens sometimes specially now they are under pressure to finish backlog.

Good luck
