Hi,

I don't know if it is possible or not but can my sponsor open a bank account in Canada joint with my name and we can put money in it and show as financial support?

Thanks!

How much money are we talking about?

Don't know. Suggest?

If you are merely trying to show the financial interdependence or "ties", just opening a joint account is enough. Though you might have trouble finding a bank that would issue an account to someone without a SIN. We didn't have that problem, so I cannot comment on which would or wouldn't.

A couple hundred thousand, I don't know, maybe ?

It is possible to get a bank account open in Canada for a Canadian citizen with an Indian citizen as a joint holder at first place?

Sure...any of the big 5 will open a bank account for foreigner...need two ID, usually passport and a credit card will do

passport okay but they also need a second document issued by a Canadian authority, student or work visa on passport works, tourist visa doesn't.

It will depend on the bank officer. They consider laundry money regulation to refuse. You may need to get a driver's license or provincial ( Ontario has one) photo ID card as 2nd document.

They are very lucky!

I tried myself, in person, with a solid history at Canadian financial agencies and they didn't let us. Only after getting a photo ID card for my partner they opened.

Russians are considered to be very lucky people

It depends on the bank and the branch. If one place won't let you, try elsewhere, even a different branch of the same bank.
Having a joint account is good proof, but if you cannot get one, you can show financial support other ways. For example, the sponsor can send money to the applicant through Western Union or just through a bank. In addition, if you are not actually supporting one another financially, you can just explain that both have a job and do not need support from the other.

EXACTLYYYYYYYY! This is the reason. My sponsor is independent and never asked for money from me even when I insisted.

And I never took any insurance policy for myself, then how can I put her as a nominee.

I was planning to send the application to my sponsor tomorrow. But I am stuck at this point now:

1. No insurance policy: If you suggest, I will get one tomorrow. Then when shall I send the application?
2. Never supported financially each other in 7 years!

I say you go open a joint account as you intended...ask her to bring her passport, national id or driver's license, and a credit card with her name on it. If one branch won't open it try another. Its not impossible.
