Hi everyone,
I am about to apply for the Express Entry visa.
In the meantime, I just got a job offer, from a British company (with a UK contract), to work as an international consultant. The company's Research Director is actually based in Toronto. Ideally, he would want me to be spending time in Canada. However, I would still remain a French resident, so I thought of coming to Canada for periods of 1-3 months, with return flights or flights abroad already booked. My questions are the following
1) Am I allowed to work remotely for this company from Canada, on a tourist visa? If I am correct, that would mean I can only stay up to 6 months a year in Toronto. I will be travelling at least 4-6 months this year, so it shouldn't be a problem.
2) If so, what should I say at the customs? Should I provide a proof of employment abroad and a certificate of residency from the country I live in (France)?
3) Finally, would this professional opportunity jeopardize my chances for getting the Express Entry visa? Specifically, would the customs wonder why I am entering the country "so often" (probably no more than three times) for such a long period? Would they interpret it as me entering the country to work "illegally" in Canada? Finally, am I simply allowed to travel to Canada while submitting my application?
Thank you for your help!
