Hello Friends

I am in Canada and my PR will expire soon and I will not meet my RO before one and a half year.

My wife is in still in my country of Origin.

My employer already have foreign employees under Work Permit.

Does it make sense to request a work permit and eventually bring my wife to Canada.

And also after two years renew my PR.

Regards

Your post isn't very clear. Do you mean a work permit for your wife?

Your PR CARD is expiring. This has nothing to do with your PR STATUS. You will still be a PR after the card expires. As a PR, you cannot apply for and do not need a work permit.

You need to wait until you meet the RO before applying to sponsor your wife. You should not leave Canada at all during that time. She can try for a TRV to come to Canada during that time.

All is well

Hello canuck_in_uk
Will it be a risk for me if she apply for a trv.
Lets say some months prior my completion of residency obligations.
Then i can apply for renewal of pr and at same time update my records at cic.
Your views will be appreciated.

There is no risk to you if your wife applies for a TRV.

Thank you very much.

And you think is it wise to apply maybe 3 to 4 months before I complete my RO.

Then I apply for PR renewal and update my records.

Will she have to return or can she stay here when I update my PR.

She can apply whenever she wants. It has nothing to do with you meeting the RO.

Why do you think so?

What does it mean? Could you provide more details?

Yes, she must inform CIC. So, what? If she could get WP- she will get it nomatter if she has a husband in Canada.

Ans---I have not met my RO yet and will not be until next year end.

My PR card has reached its expiry and I am waiting to complete my RO to apply for a new card.

Will they not inquire about me and then it becomes an issue and they ask me to leave the country.

Thank you for advice.

What does it mean? Did you overstay out of Canada and now you in Canada but do not have your valid PR Card?
Because in normal circumstances PR Card and PR STATUS ARE NOT THE SAME.

Will they not inquire about me and then it becomes an issue and they ask me to leave the country.
Yea... do not know. Go to a consultant. Your case is too unique just for getting some advice on the forum.

It means the PR card has reached its expiry date and I have not met my RO Obligations yet.

I am waiting to complete my 2 years and then will ask renewal.

As per previous advice on the forum, its better i wait i complete my RO then i do any administrative stuffs for my wife.
