Hello i claimed for asylum in US-Canada border on 7th December 2021, i was considered eligible and referred to IRB. During claim they asked if i want to apply for work permit , i said yes and ticked yes in the form. I did my medical in 12 th December 2021 and submitted my BOC on 11th January 2022. Can any kind heart tell me how can inquire about my work permit application?

You cannot inquire yet not until you have been called in office and signed some papers. At the border they just acknowledge that you made a claim. You will receive your golden paper when you sign those papers and then you can ask them

i was already given refugee claimant document at border if thats the golden paper

the work permit will be sent to your address via post about one month after you got your refugee document.

Just relax it will come. Mine arrived exactly 5 weeks after my interview

that means i can expect it to come next week..Fingers crossed! However when i look into cic website application status option with my UCI numbet no record can be seen. Do you think its because i applied at the border?

Im not sure if you can see status using your UCI for first time claimant, it is processed after your eligibility and usually doesnt go through normal process for non-refugee applicants

You cannot see status of a refugee on ECAS. It clearly states for which application you can see the status of

Just wanted to let everyone know that i received work permit today.

Applied on - December 7th, 2021
Received on- January 26th, 2022

You will not be able to see anything on ecas for refugee claimants and you have to wait until you get a golden paper (refugee claimant document which has your picture on it) then after that you will get work permit

Hello, my friend is in the same boat. Is there anyway for them to track the work permit? He came to Canada and got the brown paper at the border almost 6 weeks ago...appreciate your response

my work permit is about to expire but I got my ecorp do I need to renew my work permit or after PR it doesn't need ?
