hello,
i want to apply for a work permit and would like to take my wife with me to Canada. we will need to pass a medical exam.
my wife is pregnant. we know that x-ray is not recommended for pregnant women, however let's say we will do the x-ray and pass the medical exam.

the question is - can Canada embassy refuse visa for me or my wife if wife is pregnant.

it would be great if you could provide links to some sort of operation instructions for embassy officers.

thank you in advance

1. They could refuse the visa for your spouse, unless you can demonstrate that you will have sufficient funds to pay for the birth in Canada. There is no guarantee that a TRV would be issued for your spouse, even if she was not pregnant.

One of my friend had similar situation last year , He and his wife undergone immigration medical test and sent report without X-ray for his wife . But Canadian consulate in New Delhi asked for X-ray ,he had explained that wife is pregnant but consulate replied back saying they cannot process VISA application without X-ray.

Finally he end up in dropping his wife application and his WP got issued.

But I suggest you to give a try with out X-ray , ask the doctor to give explanation.
Keep any Travel/Canadian medical insurance ,if you have .

Thank you for your reply,
I am wondering that could I postpone the medical exam until I give a birth? It is about few months, does consulate accept it?

They won't issue a work permit without the medical. So you can certainly postpone the medical but this will postpone the work permit too.

I have a further question. After I give birth my baby, if my offer salary could not afford me to add this child to my application, then I have to drop this child? If so, how long can I sponsor my child when I arrive Canada or how long can I sponsor my child when I get PR?

Generally foreign workers can bring their spouses and children to Canada only if their job is high skilled (NOC 0, A or B). There are a few exceptions (e.g., truck drivers in Alberta). What type of job has been offered to you?

My job is listed as D catagory, I may sponsor my spouse due to provincial nominee program. The employer offers me $17/hour and following LICO table I suppose that the newborn baby would not accompany with me at this time? I am considering to drop this child and sponsor her after I get in Canada and my spouse also has a job to add up our income.
Those are my thoughts. I dont know how it can be and how long would my child be able to live with me in Canada.

To Dimma,

A friend of yours in this situation, is he sponsor his wife yet? How long would it take?

Thank you
