Same here, I gave up on checking with them, we are some of the folks who gets trapped under random background checks.. average is 120 days for security check... Only thing is i had submitted my new renewed passport, that might have initiated background check..

Oh is that the reason it’s taking so long? How do you know this?

Sorry you submitted your new renewed passport? Not sure I understood this. You haven't received a PPR yet right?

Ok and your old permit expired? It is usually granted for 3 years right? Just making sure your new application is not conflicting with the old one

Congrats. If your visa expires next week and it takes 8-10 days for the passport to come back to you after stamping, do you risk overstaying? I might be in a similar situation and wanted to know if overstaying by 2-3 days is okay

My visa expires on the 14th buy my i94 is valid for an additional 10 days. I am hoping I would get the passport before that. My employer has informed me that I wont be on US payroll after the 14th. I think its prefect timing and I wont have to overstay. My friend recently moved to Ontario and he overstayed for about a week past his i94. If you have your visa approved I think its worth the risk, otherwise I would leave on i94 expiry.

I got approval on last Thursday night, sent my passports to LA on Friday, hoping to get back them by Thursday. My visa expires on nov 7th and I plan to leave on 6th. Am hoping everything will work like clockwork. My lawyers suggested I apply for B-1 and change of status to buy time if I need. Basically, nothing will happen and I can’t work but I won’t go out of status. If needed, this might be something you can look into.

I am sure you will get it! Good Luck!

Can someone help me understand what is the process after receiving PPR? Where can I find instructions on how to submit the passports?
