Work Permit Extension while PR in process

Hello,

My current work permit expires on December 31, 2010...and I have a PR application in process at Buffalo, which I believe is in final stages(completed Medicals in september)..

I am submitting a work permit extension application online..while filling the form, they ask whether i have completed an immigration medical examination recently...can i provide info about my PR medical exam..and provide that receipt??

My concern is it OK if the work permit folks at Vegreville know that I have a PR application in process at Buffalo?

in my case i mentioned my PR file number, i think thats a credit to your WP extension.

It's important to be honest that you have a PR application in process. But you have to be careful to convince CIC that you understand that you must leave Canada at the end of your period of authorized stay, and that you will, regardless of your PR application. And, because you're applying for a temporary work permit, you must be sure to give a good "temporary" reason - that is, your reason for wanting to extend should not (only) be because you have applied for PR - focus on the reason for your employer wanting to keep you a little longer...

i had to obtain a some kind of job confirmation letter from the employer stating that I can continue my job even after receiving the PR status in Canada for my PR file . Actualy it was so useful for my file. I think like wise if you mention PR file number is not a harm to your work permit file as they will have a chance to determine that one day you will have the Permanent staus and no needto reject your WP .

i would like to say that i obtained both succesfully without any problem.

actually me n my husband want to apply for work permit, and later on we want to move for PR.
i dont know the procedures of work permit.
as u have applied as QSW , can u pls advise me some of ur experience.

my wp is about to expire,
and at around the same time i am expecting my medicals from the embassy.
FSW-2.
If my wp expires, i wont get the PR. I will probably miss it by a few days or 2-3 weeks max.

Does consulate take this into consideration and expedite the case?
I mailed the consulate but didnt hear anything back.

This is really sad - so at this stage, your employer doesn't want to keep you on? Have they applied for a new LMO, why/why not?

Unfortunately, I expect the CIC will not expedite, more likely the opposite...

no he is scared of LMO. he thinks that under no circumstances is there any skill that cant be filled by canadians, although he needs me badly, i am a critical resource here.
previously i was under IT exempt category but now i need LMO.
so he thinks filing LMO is like cheating the government. he is kind of patriotic and feels LMO is a sham. and my work experience here is just 5 days less than 2 years, so i wont be eligible for CEC too.

and yes u are right, its more likely to be the opposite case, CIC prefers other guys with fake degrees who drive cabs and live on welfare here and they tend to trouble the more eligible ones, i score 85 points.

I just ask for my employer for a new LMO and haven't gotten any reply yet, though my employer is cooperative on my plea for an extension of my WP.

I hope your WP will be extended and so is mine, since our PR application is already on process and it won't take long for it to be finalize. It is just so tense when thinking that our PR filing will go to waste due to non extension of our LMO/WP though we are still working and paying CANADA due taxes.

yes stupid crazy laws.
if u haven't got 2nd AOR yet from buffalo and your WP is expiring in 4 months then u have to get an LMO otherwise u cant make it. In my case i am on the edge, i might miss it by a couple of weeks maybe.

If you dont want to leave north america then u can try h1b for usa, if u are in IT. i am thinking about that if i can keep that as backup.
