Work permit extension processing time

Hello all,

I am in Canada on Temporary Resident Visa as a worker. My visa and work permit is supposed to be expired on March 31, 2015. I have applied for work permit extension on February 8, 2015 with the same employer's offer letter. On February 8, CIC website was showing 38 days in processing time, after few days website updated with 48 days instead of 38 days, and now it is showing 53 days. Why it is happening so and what does it mean?

Can anybody has information on the processing time criteria? I am afraid that there would be no decision and my visa and work permit will expire. Can anybody kindly suggest what should I do? Can I call CIC office, if yes at what number should I call?

Anxiously waiting for experts' response and suggestions.

Now it says 62 days for online applications.

Hope someone can help with this.

What's your situation right now?
Try looking for the CIC p. number and give them a call.
Don't worry about calling them. There is nothing wrong in asking for information.

I applied for my study permit and my wife's work permit on Feb 27th, 2015. There is no update yet!!!!
I called them and they told me that the processing time is .... and you should wait.

based on CIC website
Study Permit Extension processing time for online application is 75 days (inside Canada). This is crazy!!! processing time in some of the offices Outside Canada in less than 75 days. (they are working on January 10, 2015 now).

Work Permit Extension processing time for online application is 62 days (inside Canada). they are working on January 23, 2015 now.

What's your situation right now?
Try looking for the CIC p. number and give them a call.
Don't worry about calling them. There is nothing wrong in asking for information.

Hello there, I have applied for work permit extension in April 2015 based on PNP. processing time is 77 days now as per last week update. Anyone who applied in march? Did you hear anything from CIC yet?

We applied on. March 17 and last week they asked us to upload the employer job offer with the receipt number again

I double checked the file I uploaded and the receipt number was correct

Do you know how can we reach vegreville to ask for updates ?

It's already more than 80 days

Dear Friends,

There are some delays going on in the CIC processing centre. They have posted something about it, Now this is what i heard that there is a delay and the results for most the applications will be out till august. Some already gave you the right answer call CIC and ask them the status update as you have all crossed the speculated time frame.

I applied back in March 19 and nothing yet.
I did call CIC and no useful information from the agent.
Do you mind sharing where did you hear about the delays?

I checked the status yesterday on MyCic and both applications . My wife closed work permit and my open work permit shows approved.

We are still waiting for an email or something but at least it's a relief
.

We applied on March 17 , it took around 85 days


does anyone know if they send the permits by regular mail ?

Yes, they usually do! I received my last application by mail with no problems!
