This is completely upsetting when your application is refused because of employer's mistakes. I don't understand why they couldn't ask your employer to submit the correct payment, that's unfair to refuse because of that!

Yeah it made me pretty angry.

Am I allowed to go back to the states and apply for a new work permit at the border within a few weeks? A month? I can't find a time frame when I'm allowed to apply again...if there is any.

You can't apply for a new WP at the border there. You'll need to submit an application there, which will take a few months for them to process.

1. What is the 'Offer of Employment' this time in the LMIA exempt WP extension scheme?
2. What and where is the 'Employer Declaration'? CIC site says error.
3. When my employer submits his offer of employment through the Employer Portal, can I goo ahead and submit my application for extension, or is there a wait period?Huh

i just saw my status by logging in said it is updated but i haven't received any email for it i just logged in my account and saw status shows updated but when i see my messages i couldn't see any new message even it still says open so i dint know what is going on i applied for Post gard open new employer work permit on Oct 1st 2015 still haven't heard anything back went to MP too nothing is changed sock of it

No, all applications are put through the same process. If you applied for an extension with the same conditions (same employer), and at least 30 days before your WP expires, then even if there is no decision after the date of expiry you are allowed to continue working under implied status, until a decision is made. If it comes and is positive, you're fine. If it's denied then you have 90 days to restore your status and you can either apply to restore your status as a worker, or apply to stay in Canada under different conditions, i.e. as a visitor.

Now, because it seems no one is able to help me with my questions, could you guys, all of you who applied for extensions of your WPs, LMIA exempt, online, could you please give me a list of your documents or a short summary what you sent to cic and how (including helping your employer with the EP)?

still no news and the web page say they are processing dec 9 aplications
So what happens to y application
why no news

I called 1 888 242 2100
no human, just machine and said that my application is in proces

How can I find a real person and ask my situation? Any idea?

Call the CIC Call Centre (the number is on their website), listen to the information recorded and click the numbers they list which fit your situation (including temporary residents/work permits or something like that), and then if you listen to enough stuff and click enough times the voice on the machine will say click 0 to talk to an agent. Then you will need to wait while someone becomes available, have your application number ready, and then talk to that person (they will be able to check if something's wrong,but they will not be able to make a decision about your application).

You can apply max 120 days before your permit expire or minimum 30 days before expiry

I have applied for the work permit extension on 6th January 2016. I have submitted the valid job offer letter. My wife is a student in Canada. I had to submitted the student permit of my wife as required by the application. Two days before I got a mail regarding additional payment of $100 for open work permit application. But my application is for extension of work permit. Any suggestion for this situation.

I am in same condition as well I applied on 27th October 2015 work permit online still process
I called them on Friday after verification he said yes we did not send you any mail and then he said I will email
To Visa officer that's it
I ask him what should I do next he said nothing
VISA officer will email you or you can call us again hens week

Question - if visa delay its mean rejection?
2- can we appell if they will refuse?
Please share your expiriance

how much did you pay? total fee for extension is $255. if you paid only $155 pay the rest asap. i applied on paper february 21 on paper for extension. no news yet.

The payment required was $155. Mine is not an open work permit.
