Because you are submitting for CEC with the absolute minimum amount of experience. Many here would advise you to apply with more experience (perhaps a few weeks more) as a buffer in case you made a mistake in your calculation of work experience.

Of course, applying with the minimum amount is allowed, but if you must do it, check your calculations well. If you are applying just with one full-time job, it is relatively simple:

- there must be 12 clear months between the date you started your job, and either the date your reference letter is signed, or the date you finished your job, whichever comes first;
- you were paid for 30 or more hours of work per week for the entire time (a reasonable amount of paid leave is allowed).

Please help- Can someone tell me what the timeframe is for the AOR these days?? I need to have a rough idea.. Did anyone apply for their PR under CEC and how long did it take for you to get your AOR?

Hi, i have applied for PR under CEC and did not get an AOR before my working permit expired and therefore i had to leave the country. I've herd that sometimes with the AOR they can issue you a working permit at the boarder, i was thinking of trying my luck and doing that once i have received, do any of you know if this is true? Is it possible to get a temporary working permit at te boarder with the AOR and offer of employment?
Thanks for the help !

No, they cannot issue you a work permit at the border with just AOR and a job offer.

If you are from a visa-exempt country, have a job offer and LMIA, you can apply for a temporary work permit at a port of entry. Otherwise, no.
