Hey Guys

Need some urgent info. I am currently on a Visitor status is Canada and got my LMIA approved from an employer. I am from India ( so a non visa-exempt) country.

When i called CIC on how to apply for work permit , they gave me two options
1) Apply from Home country

2) Apply at the New York office

Does anyone have experience with this? Are the time lines same or which one is better?

Thanks

Has your request to restore your status in Canada been approved yet? Or are you still out of status in Canada?

It got approved today

Don't send in New York. CIC still not updates information about this... Just had a bad experience with this. So, from June 2014 New York doesn't accept applications in paper. But you can't send them other way if you are nor American...

Oh is it? Then is going back to home country and applying is the only option?

You can apply online and wait for the direction from your home office. Do you have a multiply visa?

Is there an option to apply online at all? I dont see that anywhere. Do you have any links . Would really appreciate if you can share some links if you have. Thanks

http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/getting-started.asp Just go there but only you need to indicate that you are now in your county not in Canada

Oh but isnt stating that i am in my home country right?? i am in Canada right now. Giving wrong info may mis lead right?

But you don't have choice, or just come back to home country. Do you have multiply visa?
