Work Permit Applications at NYC for 2013

Thanks Scorpion & Sam for your inputs.

So scorpion, we have applied on same date. Mine is 1st August 2013.
and Sam, you can check the status by sending an email to the consulate if you have your application number or receipt number instead of waiting for your HR.

I am working here in Oklahoma, and moving to Calgary, AB-Canada for the same customer, once i get the approval for WP. I will get you posted once i get any response.

But did any of you guys notice the change in NY consulate processing times. Until couple of days earlier, it was 3 months but now it has been updated to 4 months.

Hi, everyone. Share an update received today. Online application of open work permit.

All applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. An exact schedule of completion is not available at this time as our processing time is a minimum of (30) thirty days. Please be advised that as of today, we are processing files received on July 28, 2013.

It was July 28th yesterday as well.

What is the email address of New York consulate general to get update on your case? I have the case number/application number with me.

A great news,

JUST NOW, I got letter asking for passport,
I applied on 01 AUG2013, Online for Work Permit,

submit passport at following address,

EAPP
Canadian Consulate General
Immigration Section
1251 Avenue of the Americas,
New York, NY 10020

Thanks to this forum for great support,

any one moving , moved to SK pls let me know,

Regarding months changing from 3 to 4 months can be explained by the fact that it is an average of last 6 months and with passing time the fast processed applications before the strike are now older then 6 months and they must have been pushing the average down. Now that they are gone and more and more applications effected by the strike are becoming bigger part of last 6 months the average is going UP from 3 to 4. In reality application processing rate has not changed overnight.

Congrats. That is great news. I am relived now that my application will get processed hopefully in time. With this speed by next wednesday I will have the reply from Canadian consulate God willing.

I hope and pray for you guys and everyone participating here and providing feed back.

This is the reply I got this morning for my paper based application sent to NY.

All applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. An exact schedule of completion is not available at this time as our processing time is a minimum of (30) thirty days. Our office is currently finalizing applications received on July 15, 2013.

My application was sent on 17th July, so hoping to hear something very soon.

Can anyone help me predict me when can I expect passport request for my work permit. I need to go to India early in 2014 so I need some help here to plan..

My work permit is through ICT and was submitted online on October 16th.

Hello ak187
Currently it is taking around 3 months and 7 days to get your request for passport to be stamped and then another 7 days for passport to get back to you. So if you submitted your application online to NYC center on October 15th I wont make any plans till Jan 30th 2014.

Hello Sam,

I havent any word yet.. I have informed my attorneys about approval recievd for applications on Aug1st. They will get back to me by monday.
