today I got an e-mail that work permit has been approved... ;D so glad though strange NY working on weekend.. lol...!!!

Cherrynoir, any news on your passport being back. I used USPS too.

Thanks. I sent mine on 24th Jan. Will wait till 24th march. After that will withdraw my application as my current i94 is expiring and I will have to leave from US. fingers crossed.

pmpm, Congratulations and do share the good news when you receive your passport ! I havent received mine yet dchinmay, I would recommend you to poke the embassy sometime this week - as you have already passed the minimum 30 day period. From their current application processing times, it seems you should get some news before 24th march (almost everyone heard back in around 2 months). Good luck !

Seems they are processing the visa in 2 (or few days less) months, so hopefully you will not have to withdraw...

I believe that you sent a self addressed envelope along with the application...so anything showing up on tracking? Now I am really getting impatient to receive the passport back...
My husband and I have a trip coming along...

Its taking approx. 2 months (as per my and few other experiences in this thread) to get work permit approved... There is a good chance you will get an e-mail from them before your visa expires.

Guys, I got my passport today. And USPS tracking actually works approximate total time for my application was around 10 weeks. Good luck to all of you!
