Work permit application

Hello everyone,
I was researching a bit on the policy a25.
I had some unauthorized work done and I am currently on visitor record.
We am planning to apply spousal sponsorship before my visitor record expires.
I was wondering if I can apply for spousal work permit before my visitor record expires and use this public policy to help me but I seem to be getting conflicting information.

I looked at this and it says if you hold a temporary status you can apply for work permit but if you don't hold temporary status then you can apply for work permit after AIP stage.

Accordingly, the Minister has decided to use his power under A25 to exempt a foreign national from having to meet the requirements in A21(1) and R72(1)(e)(i), only as they relate to inadmissibility for lack of status (and related documents), and R124(b), so as to enable such foreign nationals to become permanent residents if and only if they meet all other requirements of the Spouse or Common-law Partner in Canada class and are not otherwise inadmissible. These requirements consist of:

A determination that the sponsor meets eligibility requirements including having submitted a valid sponsorship;
A bona fide relationship; and
Cohabitation with the sponsor.
Once applicants are determined to meet these criteria, they are eligible to apply for work and study permits

Is this AIP stage? Or aor?

I'm just confused if I can apply for work permit or not?

But I still want to maintain a legal status thus will applying for work permit result in it getting refused or will I maintain status until AIP stage if I apply before my visitor record is up?

Not looking for legal advice, just opinions.
I know I shouldn't have worked unauthorized and I made a mistake, but I currently do not work the job and plan on disclosing everything to ircc, just wondering about the process and if I can apply for work permit before AIP or not.
I do not plan on cheating the ircc and will be disclosing everything.

Your situation is not straight-forward and it may take a while for someone to respond who feels confident in giving you advice.

It seems like you are looking for an immediate answer. If so, this isn't the place for that given people give advice here for free and on their own time. Suggest you would be best off hiring an immigration lawyer to help you and who can meet your expectations of immediate responses.

I understand and I apologize for coming off as entitled. I didn't mean to come off as looking for immediate response, just wanted some opinions or to brainstorm on the topic. I know this forum is free and last thing I wanna do is tell everyone that I am owed a reply from people.
I apologize if I caused any inconvenience to anyone. I will enjoy rest of my holidays and see if anyone can help me and will also look for legal advice from a lawyer after the holidays.

I was wondering if "lack of status" policy covers unauthorized work but not on work permit but other legal status if that makes sense.
I was looking for this information on this website forums but could only find information on individuals being out of status and have worked.
Do you think I will even be included in this public policy since I had visitor status but wasn't "out of status" I'm just really stressed as I thought I would be covered under the policy. I didn't mean to work illegally but due to circumstances I had to.
I love my wife a lot and I don't want to live without her with me.

The truth is, you're asking - implicitly - two separate questions:
-whether your sponsorship application will be processed despite having worked without proper permissions. Answer most generally is yes, as long as you have been upfront about that, and no other issues not disclosed by you here.
-whether applying for a work permit will be successful in your specific circumstances (with an additional part of question about whether applying for work permit will cause more problems). I don't know answer to either; I doubt it would lead to more problems just by applying, but no idea whether AIP is sufficient, etc.

Perhaps others know in more detail. Your question is quite specific - don't expect immediate answer.

Thanks for your response, I understand what you mean.
Yes no other issues than inadmissiblity due to unauthorized work on visitor record and on that it was unauthorized work for some time and quit before marriage as I didn't want any issues, I was stupid to do the work but I want to come clean, I was planning on going back to my country but my girlfriend and I decided to get married as we didn't want to give up on 4 years of our relationship. Both our families know and attended our wedding along with our close friends. We have all the other proofs of relationship like joint insurance, bank accounts, leased appartement, shared finances, trips over the years and marriage pictures and letters from friends and family.

I understand the problem with applying for work permit as on this website forums, I have read people who are out of status have applied for WP after AIP but since I am on legal status but I am technically "lack of status" as per policy a25 on the ircc website due to working unauthorized.
I don't plan on hiding this work from ircc as this is only thing that I have done wrong I this country in over 6 years.
I don't want anything coming back to me years after.
