Hi Bugoy,

I actually use the guideline 5487 and compare it in the CIC-Riyadh checklist so I was able to submit the family information datasheet.
My destination is in Concord, Ontario under NOC 2241.

Hi Ismail,

I was lucky enough to find this thread.

At least we can share some ideas and requirements needed by CIC here in Riyadh.

Thanks again JB, for your quick reply. I guess we can help each other by sharing how our application went through.

@JB201012

Welcome to the group JB @ Bugoy

Now we are becoming a one big RIYADH Family :)

I think the sequence of approval is, ISMAILHIGGY , ME (RAJAYAN), JB then Bugoy.

Thank you for a warm welcome Mr. Rajaryan.

Yes, with the help of this tread, we can help each other a lot.

Just to update you guys, Today I had requested my and my wife's passport back from the Embassy. Due to unavoidable circumstances, I need to travel to my home country on urgent basis for a personal issue.
The Embassy were quick enough to understand my situation and quickly replied to me that, they have couriered back my passports using the ARAMAX AWB bill that I had included in my application package. They also gave me mine and my wife's file no. for future correspondance.
I have promised them to send back the passports by 25th Nov.
I will receive my passports tomorrow and will travel tomorrow night. I will have limited access to internet but will try to be in touch with you all.

@ Rajaryan

I called the embassy today and i listen to both the english voice message and arabic voice message.

The english is saying (as you mentioned before) that the new processing time for student and work visa is 8 weeks.

However the arabic is saying that the work visa requires at least 4 weeks !!!!

it is really confusing however this 4 weeks is not applicable for sure.

May be i missed something but this is what i heard.

Hope that everything is ok over ther Rajaryan.

when will you return back? do you check with your lawyer about taking passports and its effect on the visa process?

@ismailhiggy

yeah I think, if ur application is in English 8 weeks and if in ARABIC 4 weeks ;) just joking.
I think we should go with the English processing time. 8 weeks. I guess ur 8 weeks are getting over this Wednesday. You should definitely send a second inquiry on Saturday 10th Nov to follow up on ur status.

My lawyer thought that the Family Information forms are not required anymore based on the checklist from the Canadian Embassy Riyadh. Counting the number of weeks since I submitted my application, 6 weeks will be by 30 November 2012.

Thanks for your feedback Rararjan and Ishmail. I did send immediately scanned copy with signatures the Family Information requested.

Hi Bugoy,

Are you using a representative or agency for your application?

JB

Yeah you are right, it will be over 7 Nov 2012 .. as you know we are always calculating days.

I am intending to send an inquiry beginning of next week in case no response is received.

@ JB
thanks for ur wishes

@ Ismailhiggy

Yeah I spoke with my lawyer and she had already faxed the passport request letter to the Embassy on Friday.
Today I just followed up on my lawyers fax and was really pleased to see the quick response from the Embassy.
I had already discussed with my lawyer and she told me that its very common and no big deal. Also as you know I have sufficient time with me to get my visa processed(only 3 weeks have been passed) so there will not be any issue. Also we have clearly informed the Embassy about the reason of request and have also have informed that by 25th Nov I will send my passports back to them.

I will be back by 21st or 22nd nov. Will keep you all informed and updated.

@ Rajaryan

Hope that everything will be ok and have a safe trip.

I will miss you friend in the coming 2 weeks and i hope that i will have good news when you are back here.

Honestly, I understand what you are going through right now. There are a lot of factors which can extend the average time for TWP approval and from all the thread I read, one timeline is different form the other.

Basically, all depends on how a VO handle each case.
Good thing is the longer it takes, the probability of a more positive results also shapes up. :)
