@ singhsukhbir...since it's already 18 days have passed plus let's say the whole month of march...worry not,singhsukbir 'coz in other forums,usually they are giving back the passport within a month or so after background checking and you still have approximately 2 months to wait before your visa expires...let's just continue to pray...by the way,thanks for the info...it's the same thing as kres123 has given...i will try to follow-up by next week...CONGRATS to you!...

@singhsukbir don't be worried, this only means they continued processing your application. Maybe they asked for your passport to verify some information which is not clear on the passport copy you have sent them but still no assurance that visa is 100% approved, as per their reply, they are still on the background check phase. Just keep on praying, as long as you provided truthful information, there should not be a problem. Like us, try to lengthen your patience more. Most probably you will get an answer within March. Just go on with your everyday routine and try not to worry too much, it will come when it is time...... Good luck.....

Applicant can even show up at the Embassy first thing in the morning and collect your passport back in the afternoon with the Visa Label. When they say they are conducting a background check then it means they are still processing and have not completed. Can you detail the email that the CAD Embassy in AUH has sent you when they request for your passport if you do not mind. Maybe somewhere in the letter, it did specify the purpose of the Passport Request.

What do you mean by normal? I have been reading several thread and it is not normal. I just want to make sure I understand the new protocol. It is unlikely that the CAD-AUH will request for passport if they still to complete the background check. Because if there is something wrong in your background check (I hope not) then the passport request will be a waste of time.

Or maybe this is the new procedure, that is why if you can kindly share the way the CAD-AUH state in the letter on the Passport Request - if you do not mind so we will understand.

Did they mention that your "Work Permit has been approved and that they need your passport for the Visa Label" or "You need to submit your passport to complete the processing of your application"? Please advise.

Thank's for reply... yes i sent my passport together with my documents for visa application. Till now i haven't receive any reply from embassy.

I sent email and it's auto reply just want to know if my application is on process.

The normal processing time now is 7 months as per the CIC website.
CAD-AUH does not also send confirmation of receipt of your application.
You just have to keep on checking your email for updates.

Wait until May 2013. Then, if there is no update you can request for Passport back by sending an email explaining the request with your full details (e.g. Full Name, Birth date, Email Address, NOC, etc.).
