my gfs work permit is about to expire in a few days, does she need to leave the country on the expiring date, or does she have 90 days to restore her permit. I am confused about this situation as i have heard different things, if anyone can confirm this it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes,you can restore her status after her work permit expires within 90 days,if not then your girlfriend will be deported/should leave Canada in her own when her work permit expires. One should always try to extend their work permit 1-2 months before expiry date. Restoring an status will be very hard and you will need to pay status restoration fees ($200)and new work permit fees($155). Act now,if it is possible.

the issue is we waited for her work to make a decision wether or not they were going to renew, only to find out they are not, her permit expires in 2 days but i have found her another employer willing to hire her, the money isnt an issue, but on her permit it states she must leave canada by the 29th, i just want to be sure she can stay 90 days after expiring while the new employer starts the paperwork, without causing problems

You apply as soon as possible and don't think she still have 90 days to stay. Her visa is already going to expire in 2 days, after that she will be illegal. What kind work permit does she posses Open or Closed work permit?if she have closed work permit then, then again she will need positive LMIA again,if it is the case then you cannot apply for work permit or try to restore status while in Canada, she will must likely to leave and apply from outside just like our friend @friday.h specified. You can certainly try to restoration but it will most likely be rejected due to over stay already.

Best option is to apply to change her status to visitor before her work permit expires.

She is not allowed to stay 90 days. As soon as her status expires, she is in Canada illegally. IRCC gives a 90 day grace period for people to apply for Restoration but that is NOT any form of legal status during that time.

As said above, she needs to apply ASAP to change her status to visitor if she wants to maintain legal sttaus in Canada.

could anyone send me the link to where she can apply for the visitor visa
You can apply as stated above, just make sure you also have letter of explanation attached, might increase chances for getting a visa or have get out of country to make them believe she will not over stay again or over stay.
