Working on campus

You may work on campus at the institution where you study without a work permit if:

you are a full-time student at:
a public post-secondary institution, such as a college or university, or a collège d’enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP) in Quebec
a private post-secondary institution that operates under the same rules and regulations as a public institution, and receives at least 50 percent of its financing for its overall operations from government grants (currently only private college-level educational institutions in Quebec qualify) or
a Canadian private institution authorized by provincial statute to confer degrees and
you have a valid study permit.

i think 20 hrs per week but with a valid work off campus you can work more then 20 hrs.....

???

It's difficult to get on campus jobs. There are very few of them and many people competing for these open positions. For this reason you should assume that you WON'T get an on campus job.

SCYLLAA......i have a doubt.....plz tell me in which type of works are included in work off compus and work on campus........i mean student who has a permit of work off compus which type of work he can do and without work off campus totally not allowed any type of work or some type of work he can do............

On campus is a job at the university or college (e.g. working at the college library, working in the college cafeteria).

Off campus is any other job.

Just to add, in Canada once you have studied full time for 6 months , it makes you eligible to apply for work permit. Every student has to apply separately to get one and will cost approx $75 (check www.cic.gc.ca for cost).

Note that not all schools are eligible for the off campus work permit (for example, if you attend LSBF - then you would qualify for an off campus work permit). Only the following schools qualify for off campus work permits:

No - there is no legal way for these students to work off campus.
