Work experience (Healthcare) doesn't align with Education.

Asking for my friend,
My friend has 1 year experience as Medical Laboratory Assistant but his educational background is not in medical field,
Is it possible for him to apply for Express entry to be picked up in Healthcare draw?
I've heard that for EE, there's no rule that Education should align with the work experience, and that NOC and the main duties should be the matching factors, Is this true?

It is employer requirement. Assistants in healthcare sector can work with only higher secondary passing level. But if you work as a medical lab technician, then it is still valid but no company will hire you without MLT course. If you work as general physician then you need mbbs degree, if you work a pharmacist, you need at least b.pharm. But m.pharm, b.pharm, pharm.d graduates can work as pharmacist, pharmacy assistant with well experienced pharmacists. So there are some occupations where employers need your degrees. So yes he is eligible for healthcare category as far as he is medical lab assistant but if you work as a pharmacist without any degrees or license, IRCC might feel awkward because this occupation is well know and it requires license but you work as a medical assistant or pharmacy assistant then it is fine because these occupations don’t need more degrees. These occupations are for most people with degrees or without degrees.
