Hi all,

Do we need to include any work experience that was obtained during the studies in Canada in the Personal History section of the OOPNP form?

Also need clarification on something - Is it ok to submit photocopy of employment reference letter for OOPNP. And keep the original to submit when received an ITA (keeping my hopes high!).

Everything has to be photocopy as per my understanding. Also in Question no. 3 they have asked have you applied before for PR and submitted application to CIC? do we tick NO if we don't have a CIC File number?

Thanks.

I see you are playing with the question here, when you say "we tick NO if we don't have a CIC File number" . The question is not asking you whether or not you have a CIC File number, the question is "have you applied before for PR and submitted application to CIC"... so if you have applied for PR before, then be sure to say yes. If you don't have a CIC file number then put zeros or N/A. Hope this helps!

Hi All,

I hope someone can help me with my question here.

So, I studied in Canada from September 2011 to April 2013. I worked On-campus during studies, from September 2012 to April 2013. AND I worked at a gas station from I think April 2012 to sometime until the end of 2013. AND I worked at another gas station from I think May 2013 to February or March of 2014. One thing, I don't have start and end dates of my employments at gas stations. Should I mention all of these experiences in my personal history?

I don't imagine you'll have to declare this anywhere in your EE profile if you were studying full-time because that time will show up as Education activity in your personal history section.

Of course, if you've engaged in any internships between terms or something similar which temporarily kept you away from full-time educational activities, you can declare that in your personal history (if you want to, that is) under Employment activity.

Hope this helps. All the best!

Sep 2011 till Apr 2013 is covered under Education in Personal History so no worries there.

Apr 2013 till May 2013 has to be reported as Unemployed/Looking for employment.

May 2013 till Feb/Mar 2014 can be reported as Unemployed if this particular work experience is not what is helping you be eligible for the program or adding to your CRS score in some manner. I would still recommend being honest here and reporting it as Employed and attach whatever reference documents you have to avoid the slightest hint of misrepresentation in your profile.

Thanks Asivad Anac for quick response. You're the best.

So that means I just show one job experience from above that was gained outside my studies time-period?

Guys, I need some help re: my personal history. Not sure how to handle date overlaps.

I finished my masters thesis defense on January 16 2009. On January 21 2009 I started working full time. However, my degree was only conferred on March 1 2009, essentially making my education and work experience overlap for month and a half. Should I end my education in January, or should I input the dates of education according to my transcript (until March) leaving the overlap?

Thanks for helping out!

If it makes no difference to your CRS, start counting your full-time work experience from March.

Thanks! It doesn't make any difference to my CRS. My employment reference already states that I worked from January, and that's what I inputted for the EE profile. I suppose the overlap in personal history in eAPR wouldn't be that important then, would it, since it doesn't affect my points either way?

If the work reference letter states January, end your Education in January and start your Employment simultaneously. Not a problem, minor detail.

Hello everyone, I have a question.
When applying for WP I stated only 3 employers in the application because it was only 3 slots provided. After I got a visa I noticed that I needed that I needed to add an additional page to my application and state all the employment history for the past 10 years. I did not provide basically 2 jobs(full time) while I worked studying in university(part time).
Any suggestions what shall I do now when I need to extend my WP inside Canada and after applying through EE? Shall I state now all my past employers or just forget about it and never mention it?
I don't want to claim any points for those 2 jobs and I did not intend to hide it from CIC, just filled the application and did not realize that I need to add an additional page.

Anyone please??

@Asivad Anac,

I have a question for you. I am fillilng up my post ITA form and stuck here. Sep 2010 to June 2014 I have my bachelors education in Islamabad. During this time I did a summer internship june 2013 to sep 2013 in Karachi.
Now, in personal history section the education period (Sep 2010 to June 2014) shows up itself. How can I add my internship period in this? Shall I overlap it? or shall I modify my education do it in a way:

education (sep 2010 to june 2013) - internship (june 2013 to sep 2013) - education (sep 2013 to june 2014)?

And since the internship was in Karachi, how do i put the address in the address history?
For now I have Islamabad address (covering me for 2010 sep to 2014 june). Shall i break this too?

Please suggest. Thanks in advance :)
