I have only been a permanent resident for 1 year but I think it sucks how I now have to wait 3 more years to apply for citizenship instead of 2 more years.

Congrats , I believe for Winnipeg office that time line is so fast , good luck in your test , some of us Winnipeg applicants are waiting for much longer than that, any way have a good one, cheers

Hello everyone,

I am a Winnipeg applicant and would like to share my timeline (as it appears on my ecas) with you:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 29, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 4, 2015.
We started processing your application on March 13, 2015.
We sent you a notice on June 12, 2015 to appear and write the citizenship test on July 7, 2015 at 10:45 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

The fourth line used to be "you application was sent to your local office in Winnipeg on March 25, 2015 ...." but was recently replaced by the test notice statement.

I'll have to get ready for the test ...

Does anyone here took their test in May 2015 and have already received notice to take oath? I took May 6th and until now got no oath invite yet.

I had the same day test with you and I am still waiting for the oath. Hopefully it will not be long.

I took my test on May 6th in Winnipeg as well. I haven't heard anything yet about the oath.

Now my concentration is about getting my bf extended wp meanwhile he is waiting for his PR.

Hello guys

The last line of my Ecas reappeared as

"We sent you a notice on June 19, 2015 to appear and write the citizenship test on July 8, 2015 at 10:45 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment callus"

I applied in Oct 2014, any idea what to take to the test, what documents I mean, good luck to every one including myself.

Cheers guys ,

WTF is this shit?

Seriously??? I have been waiting more than a year an "NOTHING"!!!

There is really something fishy going on in Winnipeg...

Hi,

I took my test on May 6th too. 8:47AM. Were we on the same batch? Let us keep in touch through this thread please.

Alainski of this thread received his oath notice 45 days from the day he took the test. It's been 47 days from the day we took ours. I'm really expecting a mail from CIC within this week. I was first hoping that we could take our oath on July 1st but it seems that there has been no oath taking ceremony scheduled on Canada day unlike last year.

okay... I am seriously pissed off today.

Just got the newest ATIP notes on my file (Since ecas doesn't work & Call centre refuses to help me)

CIC has not touched my file in 9 months! WTF??? are they sleeping? Does anyone work there? I understand that they have a lot of applications but my GOD!!! I cannot process the idea of them not being able to do anything on a application in 9 months... This is unacceptable...

There is also no BF (bring forward) dates or Due dates... it's just blank... omg I cannot believe the ridiculousness...

There is literally nothing that I can do about this, the call centre is rude and doesn't even want to answer any of your questions...

I digress...

I was sworn in as a Canadian Citizen this morning! It was really heartwarming. It took about 2 hours. They were very touchy about needing to see everyone speak the oath. They reviewed the notice to appear to be sworn in, and they took my permanent resident card. They did not review my passports or identification. I was given a citizenship certificate with a number. We were advised to wait two days before applying for a passport so they could update our records to indicate we were now citizens.

Thanks again to everyone on this forum who shared personal experiences.

My timeline:

Application sent: 19 May 2014
Application received: 23 May 2014
In Process: 21 July 2014
AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt)+Discover Canada booklet received: 21 August, 2014
Notice to Appear to Write Citizenship Test: Dated March 24, 2015; received March 26, 2015
Test Date: Monday April 13 @ 7:45 a.m. at Johnston Terminal at The Forks
Swearing-in: Tuesday June 23 @ 9:15 a.m. at VIA Rail Station, 123 Main St.

Took 13 months in total from application on May 19, 2014 to swearing in on June 23, 2015.

Congrats Sojo16, very happy for you, :), and thanks for letting us know,
