Actually the test will not be tough at all, if you have read the Citizenship Guide at least once (or twice) cover to cover and took the practise tests (example http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/ or the tests that are available at Apna Toronto).

Try to understand the year and names roughly because, the choices will not be too close to each other. So, the simple technique is: If you don't know the exact answer, then look at the available choices and then you should easily be able to eliminate the irrelevant choices and then choose the right one.

Unfortunately I cannot reveal the Questions that were asked on the test because they clearly told not to. Good luck!

Do you travel to US regularly for work, were there any questions on that?
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes, I do. They only asked about the location of work and whether that location is that of my employer or client location, but that question was raised after I explained that I am working on both sides in US and Canada depending on my project allocation.

Thanks Sivabalan!!
Did you get FBI report from US or the Entry Exit report from CBP. Just trying to prepare ahead.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Windsor office to issue FP request, if its required.
I submitted application Dec 2017 end. I got AOR last week on 24 Apr. Looks like my application just fell into black hole. Anyways I have to take trip outside of Canada for 2-4 weeks. Just wondering should I inform CIC.......or dont even bother, considering how long it took for AOR let them work at their own pace.

I worked in Canada from Jan 2014 till Apr 2016 and after that I made daily commute for 7 months to Detroit and then again I got transferred back to Canada for 6 months and only from Jul 2017, I start weekly commute to US on alternate weeks. I explained all this in detail to the officer and I kept a log of each and every trip out from Canada on Physical Presence Calculator website (it runs through several pages). Apart from that, I also provided the US entry exit records (CBP FOIA option) to the officer during interview. and the officer also appreciated that documentation.

I applied for FBI record check and I received the letter from FBI very late, about 3.5 months after I applied for citizenship. So, I just carried that letter with me to the interview but the officer did not ask for it.

Hope this helps.

I know CIC is cautious about approving commuter cases (working in US & living in Windsor). Also the "intention to reside in Canada" clause is no more there in Bill C6. Do the immigration officers still verify this intent during the interview? If so, does it help to own a house in Windsor to prove that intent, especially when you are single and buying house is the only way you can demonstrate that intent?
Would appreciate if any experienced commuter members in this forum, can shed some light on this.

I think this is a personal decision for you to make. If you can afford to buy a house, please go ahead. Even having your rental/lease documents, T4 etc also proves your residency. Like you said, there is no intention to reside clause. May be getting a house is a overkill but do it you can afford to.
