Hello everyone,

I got a letter from a previous employer. Job is skill level C and I am only submitting it because I worked for them within the last 3 years.

To whom it may concern,

RE: Aplicants name

This letter will confirm that XXXX XXXX was employed by XXXXX frome June 14, 2011 till August 17, 2010. Mr. XXXX was a part time Deli Service Clerk.

I trust this is the iformation you require. If you require further assistance, please call the undersigned at XXX XXX-XXXX, extension XXXX

Yours truly,
Company's name

I know it does not include my wage and duties but is what I received after asking what needed. Does it matter if its missing that information? This thoes not count for my CEC skilled work experience so thats why I ask if I can send it like that and write my wage and duties on a separate sheet.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if we have to submit a letter from employer if not employed in Canada.
To put it in other words, in the last 36 months you need to provide a letter only from your Canadian Employer evidencing 24 months work. In case the remaining 12 months is outside Canada, letter from such employer might not be required.

But it has to strictly adhere to contain the following, in case you do not want the application getting rejected.

Letters must be -

(1) On letterhead
(2) Signed by responsible officer / supervisor
(3) Have the name printed name and title of the responsible officer / supervisor beneath the signature.
(4) Show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses,
(5) Stamped with the company's official seal.

Letters must include all of the following information -

(1) the specific period of employment with the company
(2) the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
(3) main responsibilities and duties in each position.
(4) total annual salary plus benefits
(5) the number of hours worked per week.

Wage and Duties is something that again has to be evidenced by your employer.
You drafting it on a paper will not help the cause for sure.

I think everyone is missing the point, this letter DOES NOT count for his CEC time.

Bravosix, I guess if you are not counting this for it is a non-skilled work then it should not matter what the letter says and you can add the information on a separate piece of paper. However, also include in the paper that this is not to be counted for your time and you are supplying it for consistency purposes as it was someone you had worked for in the past 3 years.
