Hi,

I was checking the CIC website to see application processing time and i found an Alert of Strike Action done by PAFSO (Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers).

See the Alert in Yellow box on the following link :
cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

From their (PAFSO) page on facebook, i can see many people complaining about their Visa delay because of the Strike..
But i'm not sure if this will affect our immigration applications processing time? or not ?

Regards,
Joe

Following was the latest comment by PAFSO in fb :

" Thank you for your support and good wishes. As of Monday, only members designated essential and staff who are not part of PAFSO will be working in the Immigration sections mentioned in our statement. We are prepared to continue these and other measures as long as it takes for the employer to recognize the value of the services we provide and return to the negotiating table with a meaningful offer. If you think this should happen sooner rather than later please e-mail tony.clement@parl.gc.ca and let him know."

Therefore, we could assume that the immigration applicants will be the least affected.
All other visa applications including work permits, student visa, family sponsorship etc. would be severely affected.

Lets Hope for the best... :)

all visa categories come under immigration division.

the worst affected will be those PR applicants who are done with their medicals and are waiting for their passports with visas.

Yessss, couldn't agree more! Because I'm one of them u mentioned above. Before when I check my e case status it says in process at least, but now they already stopped working, nothing showed on my status . (I'm in office Ottawa )

Can anyone of u please tell me when this PAFSO strike will end? M having job offer with hrsdc n lmo approval, waiting for the strike to come to end, to apply for WP? Should I apply for it now? N in how much time the CIC give me response or acknowledgement of my application? This PAFSO strike is making me mad ??? Pls guide what should I do?

Hope the strike will end soon, we as PR applicants are really affected.
The delays are mounting as each day pass... :(
