Sold my home in Central America where I live since the 60's. Have been back in Canada 4 times since the 60's.
My last trip in 2012 (2.5 month stay)I opened my first ever Canadian bank account. Now since I sold my home I will be getting payments of CAD$30,000. a year for a long long time.
I am thinking of having the buyer wire my monthly payments to my Canadian (BC) bank account or to my PayPal and I deposit into my Canadian bank account

If I do not live in Canada . . . will I have to pay Taxes on those deposits ?

I am trying to get back to Canada to live but need to have my wife along. Going to try to get her a TRV (I know slim chance) and apply for her PR from inside Canada.
If I can not get the TRV and her into Canada then I have no choice but apply for my wife's PR from outside Canada.
If she can not get into Canada until her PR is approved I see no sense paying taxes to a government that keeps families apart. :(
I will keep my money out of Canada if I have to pay taxes on it.

Now . . . if she gets her TRV and can go to Canada with me and start her PR application inland I see nothing wrong with giving Harper some of my hard earned money. ;D

Please advise,

No, you don't owe the Canadian government taxes with regards to your capital gain if you are a non resident for tax purposes.
