hi guys,
I applied for spousal sponsorship and owp in aug 2017 inland, received aor october, 3 weeks ago I received my owp back due to insufficient funds ... yep I was one of those I have only now managed to send my owp back off with correct fees, however my question is December 30th my visitor status expires, now from what I have read I would have implied status if owp was sent with sponsor app now my original was but then returned so now it was just sent separately to the office under "owp for spouse or common law partners" so do I have implied status or not once my visitor status expires.... does it depend on if they receive my app before my status expires? Or if I have to extend my visitor status do I need to also extend my children's visitor status too? Or can I just rely on my owp app and everything be ok?
This sponsorship malarkey is so stressful
Thanks ahead for any advice in return x

Hi

As your visitor status is still valid, you will have Implied Status from the OWP. However, your children do not benefit from your status. You need to continue extending their visitor status separately.

Thanks Canuck, so even if they didn't look at my owp application until after my visitor status expires I'd still be on implied status? So happy i asked about the children as I didn't know I had to renew there status as I thought it didn't matter if out of status whilst pr app is in process as just need to be in status for owp.... thank you!

Yes, you will have Implied Status.

@canuck_in_uk

We submitted my husbands application yesterday along with open work permit application from which I know we get implied status. But my question is do you lose implied status when something from the spouse application is wrong and sent back, or just if something from the open work permit is wrong and sent back?

thanks!

If the PR app is returned, the OWP app is returned with it.
