Hey guys

The company I current work for is located at a residential house, with 3 employees. The company have been operated for years. I receive bi-weekly pay stubs, T4 and have proper gov deductions from my each paycheque. Since businesses do not normally be run at a residential house. I am concerning will this situation make my experience unqualified for the Express entry. I am applying CEC under Express Entry btw. or anyone with the same situation can share if your application is approved ?

Thanks

My wife has been working as a free lancer from our Home since 2 years. She had all her documents sorted (contracts with clients, etc.) so it was not a problem. As long as the company is registered and you have pay stubs mentioning the companies name it shouldn’t be a problem.

Hi HusainS

Did your wife apply CEC under Express Entry or through other program as self-employed ?

Thanks

You should look for a thread of an applicant that received rejection (or was charged for misrepresentation I don't quite recall the outcome) since the company were he was working had a residential address.

Hi Delpiero07

So your conclusion is my experience is not qualified ? I know there is a rejected case in USA, but that was the company register a business address but operating in a residential address. The company I am working is registered and operated at the same residential address. that really confused me TOT

Nope, i'm not making any conclusions nor am I giving a definite answer.

I'm just saying I've been similar cases before and you should try to find them so you don't make the same mistakes others did.

Thanks Delpiero07. I have just read all the similar cases on this forum. none of them updated their final outcome :(. but i read a thread saying that employees working for a home based company on site will violate the zoning law. is that true ?

She is my co-applicant under EE.

And I am self employed myself.

Check the threads over here. I would suggest to consult with an Immigration Lawyer since I had seen some in-house work experiences being denied. But sadly I dont know whether it was said in this forum or elsewhere. Good luck.

Thanks Raz0r

that's the next thing I am gonna do.

And do you think if i could find the answer by calling CRA agent?

Actually when I was registered with CPA student. I saw many CPA firms on the CPA website are registered with a residential address. since small accounting firms do not make a lot of money, many of them are normally operated at home base. I just do understand what reasons could possibly be for rejection from CIC. Any seniors have a clue?
