HI All,

my situation is as follows. PR application done and submitted. Medicals done, but my partner has to have a second x-ray 6 months after the 1st one done just to make sure her lungs are normal, as she couldn't produce a sputum test.

My questions is, even though the medicals have been done and are pending the second xray, will the application continue to process and be waiting on that at the end?

Good question. I would think that they wouldn't process it further without the medicals being passed. Otherwise, they're doing work that may be unnecessary in case of rejection. (Note: I'm not saying they're going to reject your app, just stating generics.) Curious to see what others think.

any seniors
Did CIC request the 2nd xray or your Medical practicioner?
Not a senior by any means - but my 'Canadian Officer ''friend'' has advised that the medical is normally the fiest thing that is checked and evaluated before moving on to the rest of the file unless you have special circumstances in relation to the 2nd xray?

Originally the sputum test was requested by the Medical Office of the Canadian High commission in London (which I assume is CIC). As sputum is not possible, they told my physician a 6 month 2nd xray is sufficient. I have notified CIC with a case specific enquiry of this just to make sure they all know. THoughts?

They won't proceed with the processing of the application until the medical is passed. So your application is effectively on hold until that time.
