Will a previous visa denial affect my PR application?

I was denied a Canadian tourist visa some time ago so was curious if my PR application will be affected by that? And if not, will the approval process be delayed?

There can be an additional check for the reason of refusal. But I don't think it will have a major impact.

It depends on the reason for the denial.

I was denied for the study VISA once due to
"failed to satisfy the visa officer about having sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain myself and any family members who are accompanying me during my proposed period of study" (Actually, I forgot attaching financial proofs)
and I mention that experience every time when I apply my canadian VISAs.

I have never experienced any problems or extended processing time.

If anyone, however, were denied VISA due to misrepresentation, that would be a problem for sure.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I mentioned that I was rejected a visitor visa but didn't give the reason why because I don't remember. I simply mentioned I was rejected visitor visa in year 2007. Will that be ok?

That's completely okay. Even though I know the reason, I never say the reason and assume they know.

I simply say the same thing as you suggested "I was rejected xxx visa on xx/xx/xxxx"

I wonder what would be the ramification for misrepresentation. Just out of curiosity? I would bet that there is some time between which you are barred from applying and also would undergo very minute scrutiny checks in all areas

Hi everyone .... My husband was denied visa for Canada in 2009 .... And the reason CIC cited was .....You do not have sufficient points to demonstrate that you have requisite work experience in the mentioned NOC ....MY doubts are :

1. I received ITA last month for express entry ... and this time i am the principal applicant ... Will it affect our chances of getting PR ??

2. In the e - APR , do i need to mention that it was rejected in 2009 ??

I know of some of these. I remember seeing a TV show called something like CBSA Border Security and you would be surprised at how many people try to present fraudulent documents. In my opinion, you provide genuine documents based on your scenario and it's either they allow you in or they don't.

I believe that you should mention with simple words like "XXX was denied visa for Canada in 2009". And it's unlikely to affect your PR application.

Do we need to disclose the reasons for the denial? I just don’t wanna give them too much information that can harm my case. Anyone?

My husband have applied for my sponsored PR. In 1 month we will receive an AOR number, which we can use to apply for spouse TRV. This have higher rate of approval. However, if we apply for the normal TRV now (instead of waiting for 1 month for AOR number) and it gets rejected. Would it affect the approval of spousal TRV that we will apply in 1 month?
