wife may not be available during interview ?

Hi all,

I live in Malaysia with my husband presently, we applied for immigration from here in Malaysia and we got our file number on June 24, 2010 which means we should submit all our documents by October 24, 2010. I am pregnant now and I want to travel to India for my delivery I would be back to Malaysia only May 2011.

I AM NOT THE PRINCIPAL APPLICANT. MY HUSBAND IS THE PRINCIPAL APPLICANT.

I want to know ?

When would they call for interview ? In the event I am not there for the interview, will it result in any grave consequences ? or can my husband give the excuse that I am not in Malaysia and away for delivery in India. Will the visa officer accept it ?

Unable to travel for Interview due to pregnancy is a valid ground. I think in case they call for interview you should also supply doctors report advicing not to travel during that period. The visa officer will accept this reason.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
The most important here is to inform the CIC of your pregnancy and let them know about approximate of the due date, they will then schedule to review your application accordingly. The pregnancy may put a hold on your application but it will be just to grant the visa to all of you at the same time.

thanks all for such a prompt reply.
i havent yet sent my frst document itself( the date to be sent is by 22 oct.) so i guess its too early to inform the VO. and according to my immg consultant(yes i have one, and tell you its no use having one : , i should inform the VO only after the delivery. so may be i should wait. if there is any interview, i guess i ll have to request them to postpone the date.
i ll keep my fingers crossed and hope things turn out well, as a lot of time effort and money is gone in the process.
the gud thing is that my consultant will charge the fee only after we get our visa stamped
