Hi All, As the subject indicates, we are starting out application for HIS (U.S.A.) Canadian permanent residency. We have been married since Feb. 2012. Even though I'm a pretty intelligent gal, I'm REALLY intimidated by these forms for him and myself. I plan to just take it one step at a time, check and re-check my work ( I' have some OCD tendancies). And Pray.....lol.
I am in the process of reading the guide (HIS guide), I've read it in it's entirety a few times. Some conflicting info on what office to send his app. to.
All new Family Class applications must first be mailed to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
OR
In your application, you must select the visa office where your application will be processed. Please consult the chart below to find your visa office.
This second instruction indicates Ottawa office. Just to clarify we ARE legally married so it will be Family Class. I reside in Canada, he still resides in U.S. it will be Outland App. So which office?

Secondly, my husband's son is 32, established in the U.S. and will 100% never be joining us in Canada. He needs to be included in app.? It indicates to list children wheather accompanying or not.

Already confused, and scared. Thanks for any clarification.

When it says your Visa Office, it means the one Stage 2 is processed at. Yours is Ottawa. (aka CPP-O, CPP-Ottawa, Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa)

Welcome to the fun!

Parker24, I don't see what your referring to but I DID find your post SPECIFIC to Canada/U.S. immig. It's GREAT!
Also, stupid question, what is "Validate" on forms? If something remains in red highlight is it entered improperly? And NON dependent children who will NEVER want to immigrate to Canada ( his 32 y/o son) will not be included in App.?

Wow I just realized I need sleep if I didn't include the dang link! HAAH Sorry :p

Validate means there's a button at the top that says Validate and it will create barcodes for you for that specific form. I'm not 100% sure on that question, I would assume you put put him in anyway as he IS your child, plus it gives him the option of eventually possibly coming over.

I was going to ask if you've been knitting too much.

You may need to go to Knitter Anonymous...... It's okay to say you need help. :p

(Ms. Redneck, ignore our silly jokes. Unless you also enjoy knitting.....)

No to the son. He will be listed as his child, but not as a dependant.

Two forms require you to "validate" them. The forms then generate a barcode. CIC scans the barcode and it populates basic info into their computer system. At least that's my best guess on how it works, because other than statements I've read on the forum... I don't really know.

I've also heard the barcode now imputs your address and email. Then people complain CIC has their address/email wrong. This leads me to believe people don't proofread as much as they let on ;)

Or are too excited to both proofreading/filling out the application correctly..... like me........ :D ::)

Listed as child but not dependent......does that mean the son requires medical? Thank you all......I'm just trying to do this right the first time, and don't want to be inadvertently untruthful.
