Australia has Prospective Marriage Visa
USA has Fiance Visa

But Canada. No. "We don't want Spouses of Canadians to come easily to Canada. We do not care about your family. If your spouse is in Canada, we will give you 1% chance of getting a TRV"

I thought Canada is a first class country. Guess not. What a backward country Canada is.

No we are not living in a backward country. They are more concerned about the safety of their staff. Things will eventually go normal by the end of this year , BIG wait time thou, can see your frustrations

Hi, can you tell your experience which forced you to say this?
May be due to Corona, there may be delay.
Did you join the forum just to abuse Canada since you were denied something that you ask for?
Canada's CIC/IRCC follows certain process. If you feel you were cheated, you can appeal..
What is your story?

Bit dramatic to refer to the whole country as backwards because a single policy doesn’t suit your personal agenda. Maybe actually read and understand the IRPA and the laws governing immigration and you would have a better understanding of why it is the way it is. Put simply, spouses don’t meet the requirement for a TRV in most cases. Spousal visas are a different issue and you would be better expending your energy through political changes rather than some angry commentary.

Twenty years ago, we used to be able to bring our finacee to Canada for immigration.

Perhaps they stopped running the program because Canada don't make so much as it was 20 years ago as in last Liberal years.

1, The problem was that the fiancee/fiance had 90 days to marry when they entered Canada. A high proportion didn't and they were difficult to find and remove. So the program was dropped.

Feel free to emigrate to your partner's country if Canada is so backward.

Guess not . Tad melodramatic because a policy doesn’t fit your need
On the flip side you’ll have a bit of time too wait to get even more upset

Agreed fully as most of them misused the system. It was so easy thou; just write a small letter on pc of paper how you know each other..And VISAs were granted. People used to bring all kind of relatives here then court marriage, then divorces within few days, and so on.

We dont want fiance visas, we want STRV's or Special Temporary Visas for spouses.
The issue of misuse won't apply because nobody wants to overstay and risk jeopardizing their sponsorship application.
Rally in Montreal going on as we speak now.

Yes Canada is much better than Nigeria or Cuba or Chad or Somalia or Venezuela or Jamaica, but compared to UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, etc....it might be backward...unfortunately my spouse isn't from any of those countries...sigh...

Unfortunately people WILL risk their sponsorship applications. Happens all the time. Part of why they’re strict, especially now with rising cases of COVID again, they’re going to be on high alert.
