:D We both did our equals as a couple while filling out the application but when it came to submitting evidence, he was going to settle with 10 pictures and did not see why we need to have what he called "strangers" reading our private messages or having copies of all our images. lol... I am the Sponsor and had to take the bull by the horn and submit all we had... even those chats online we want to keep between ourselves. My husband is very reserved but in this situation, we have to open up to immigration. I find myself doing most of the research and tracking now (I am impatient) ::)

I, the sponsor (female) did most of the work ;D. I had to create a checklist for my husband of what he needed to complete before he send everything back to me (i.e. signed forms, medical, police certificates, etc..). I had fun organizing the entire package, looking at all the phone bills, cards given to each other, movie stubs, pictures, airline tickets.. brought back memories hehehe. The whole immigration process was stressful but overall we are both happy that we are done. :D

We shared the work..he did most of the gathering, and I am a research and organization freak. It gave me butterflies reading the development of our relationship written from his point of view, though..pretty sweet, my husband :)

I (female applicant) did most of the work...I think the applicant has a lot more things to gather and present for the application

At the begining in one of his visits we tried to fill all the forms together but he founded complicated to understand all the legal process we had to go through, so I end up doing most of it; Im also a little perfectionist...and prefer do things on my own to make sure they are done properly lol.

Sometimes I think that hadn´t I do all the work and pushed him to do his part we probably wouldnt have apply by now.

So as someone else mentioned already "I'm good at this type of thing and he's good at other things and so we complement each other"..and I love HIM and the way he is!!! :D

CHEERS!!

I think the exact wording I used with my partner is "I would have died waiting for you to do any of it!"

I (female sponsor) did pretty much everything... originally I gave him a list of "his" tasks which was around 30% of the workload and pretty much just included filling in his forms and gathering his evidence (stuff I coudn't really do myself like Police Check fingerprints). But I ended up having to harrass him to do it so much that I pretty much did 110% of the work and he still did 20% (yes, I know the math doesn't add up but if you've ever tried to make a man do something you know it can take 130% of the work).

I'm sure it's all worth it once you get that visa but I'm pretty sure we didn't speak more than five words to each other (other than - did you fill in your form yet, etc) for the entire time we were putting the application together (and we do live together). Ah, love :) Couldn't have imagined it would have been this stressful. We spoke about it after submitting and sorted things out. He's moving to Canada for me so I suppose it's only fair that I have to do all the work... just wish the whole process hadn't been so unpleasant.

Now if we can just get that visa so it all starts feeling worthwhile...

I'm male (and the applicant) and like AllisonVSC, did most of the work myself (applying Inland) but the reason why is simple: I had the time. My wife works and is in no mood to do paperwork after coming home. She did review with me all the completed forms though, and especially helped big time with the spousal questionnaire and additional letter explaining our relationship.
Good luck, everybody!.

As long as he was very attentive with his wine pouring duty I'm sure it all balanced out!

Male applicant here as well and I did the whole thing. I am way more organized than my partner, and knew how to file everything.

I have done all the forms, and some of the history. I am 'the sponsored'. My significant other future wife ++ is working on the picture side, and getting statements from all of her family.

I have gathered 80% of what is required and she's doing about 20. but this is mostly due to the fact that I have been playing with the immigration thing for a lot longer than we have been together (we've been together living for 3 years, and I've been toying with the immigration idea for probably 7 or so).

I qualify under various streams, but the advice is to do Spousal OUtland, so that is what we are doing.

Now just to wait for the stupid papers from various govt agencies in the US and elsewhere...

Cheers
H.

Same for us: I did it - the applicant - but I was the one with the time to do it. Being here with him in Canada, with him working full time and supporting me, it was something important that I could handle so he didn't have the stress. And I'm a lot more organized with paperwork - he hates it.

That's sorta how our marriage works anyway - we each handle what we do best . . . like he's the cook because he loves it, and he's way better at it than I am. Yum. ;D But I'm pretty good at pouring the wine!

Ok,My wife did all the work, she is organized, good reserch, and really dogood job in task like this. I had to share with cooking for us, clean the house, and pring money for our family to pay all things,

I believe it is not, who did not or who did all work,if both are agree in this and happy it is ok.

In general Woman are much better deal with Manage, man good with work and provid money for family, it is equial in my opinion
