Dear friends,
I would like to know which of this three province or any other province that is easier to get Pnp with a job using pgwp. Manitoba, British columbia, Nova scotia. I would be through with my pgd by August in a college in Toronto. Must the job be skilled for me to get the pnp?Thanks

Nova Scotia probably because they only need you to be working there for 3 months, but there is a heck lotta formalities in Nova Scotia...manitoba too but the nomination time there can be around 4-5 months under the employer direct stream so if your WP runs out you will have problems and take 1-2 months to find a job as the situation in Manitoba regarding employment is pretty bad....So despite all the hassle I would say Nova Scotia.....

@Candyman and Soloman thanks.What about BC and Saskatchewan?Will i be given 1year pgwp for an 8months course or just 8months?Should i apply for another course to get 3years?Thanks

For course less then 2 years long and greater or equal to 8 months you will get PGWP equal to the length of your studies. If you study another course within 2 years of completing the previous degree/diploma and your cumulative study time in Canada is 2 years then you will be able to get PGWP of 3 years.

Keep in mind that PGWP is given only once.

@ inam didnt get u. 1 yr program p 1 yr work permit mlgya then kia krna chahie?

Yes for 1 year study you will get 1 year PGWP.

Quote: "Students holding a one-year graduate degree from a provincially accredited post-secondary educational institution in Canada (pursued full-time) after having obtained, within the prior two years, a degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary educational/training institution will qualify for a three year work permit. This exception also applies to students who have left Canada temporarily between the graduations."

@Inam thanks.If i get the pgwp and before the end of one year,nothing comes up, can i apply to a school would i be given admission and my permit extended?There is this program i heard in Niagara College where u transfer credit of previous courses and do just four months thats is if you have done 1year post secondary and you will be given 3years pgwp, is it true?

At least one of the two 1-yr programmes needs to be a graduate degree though. The other one can either be a degree or a diploma. Certificates (UG/PG) do not qualify.

@lin4life
i also heard of that 4 month extra study thing at niagara college from my consultant she said lot of students had taken advantage of it

@Sikshsingh Will Cic give d 3yrs pgwp when you are meant to do a course fro 2years, and you do just 3semesters?Can i leave my current course and take another course in a different college?What will i use to extend my permit?

You will have to apply for PNP or CEC, after getting canadian degree/diploma plus 1 year job experience in NOC O,A,B (with some exceptions), following which you can apply for Permanent Residence.

For citizenship you are allowed to apply after 2 years of being Permanent resident in Canada plus you must have spent 3 out of 4 years in Canada.
