There are Europeans, South Asians, South Americans, Arabians and so on...but its difficult to generalize the reason of moving to Canada.
For EUeans the reason of moving there could be different to Asians. Well you can find EUeans everywhere, from Africa to Brazil or Canada. That doesn't mean that there is starvation or insecurity or something like that in EU. For an Indian the reason can be different and for a Sudanese the reason can be different.
Many people say Canada has great health care and public transit, I don't believe that...its an ignorant bliss.
Canada is a new and developing land which has its kind of charm in comparison to old stagnant Europe. Canada has smaller population in comparison to crowded India and China. Canada has different property ownership system than China and so on......
If you ask why people go to Canada still then? Answer: Does any other country from EU or even US allows such easy immigration system? So you can not compare why people go there and why not to any other country.

There is high quality control in EU and especially in Germany as a result you get high quality food in comparison to North America. If you remember Walmart couldn't survive in Germany and sold its 800 stores to REAL to move out of Germany.
