if you decide to only pay that, remember that there is a right of permanent residency ($490) that has to be paid before you can get your visa.

If you have the money, its advisable to pay the whole $1040 up front to avoid any delays...

WHICH SECTION IS THE 'FEE FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE' IN ON THE WEBSITE? IF THIS IS TRUE, I WOULD RATHER PAY IT ALL UPFRONT?

i just looked under the fees payment part and it is part 4 so i guess it does have to be paid before you get the visa.So yeah if you can pay it all now,i guess ill have to pay it when they ask for it.

4. Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)
(Canadian dollars)
For the acquisition of permanent resident status $490
This fee is payable by principal applicants (with some exceptions) and accompanying spouses and common-law partners. It must be paid before the immigrant visa is issued overseas or before the applicant becomes a permanent resident in Canada.

The following applicants are not required to pay this fee:

•dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; and
•protected persons, including Convention refugees.
