Where to get the pictures taken?

Hi I am trying to find out where to get the pictures done? I went to Walmart where you can get passport pictures done, but they were totally dumbfounded by my request (I showed them the page that says take this to the photographer with all the information)

They said they couldnt do my request because they were not set up to take different pictures than a passport...

Can I do the pictures myself if I have a white wall and get the dimensions right?

I wouldn't recommend doing them yourself. Go to London Drugs, that's where I got mine done, and yes I showed them that piece of paper, and they automatically knew it was a PR photo, not a passport. They changed some settings on their camera to accomodate that request.

I second London Drugs. They usually know the difference between passport and immigration pictures and the prices are reasonable.

Costco - they know what they are doing and it's really cheap. if you don't have a membership - find someone to take you. As long as the member pays for it and is there, you're fine.

Cry. No Cosco/Shopper Drug Mart here...I live in a super small town, the only thing we have is Walmart CVS...and maybe the Post Office...LOLOL...

I had no issues with Walmart. If you have no luck elsewhere try them again, just tell them its for PR. The bit of paper might have confused them?!?!?!

The Walmart, we went to which is about 20 minutes from us has all the dimension requirements from several countries so all I had to do for mine was to say I needed them for my PR application ( note: I'm US through Ottawa). So that is odd, you'd think each Walmart would have the same or at least similar equipment.

If you're still in America go to Walgreens otherwise London drugs

I am still having issues finding a way to get the correct pictures taken...I am running out of time...this is ridiculous.

Ok...the best place to get the picture taken is by standing (or sitting) in front of a camera.

Hahaha...Come on, that's a good one!

Seriously though...do NOT have a passport photo taken because the specifications for the PR photo are NOT the same. The PR photo is a bit smaller (I believe).
I suggest that you print the specifications (Appendix A, if I recall) and take it with you to Walmart. Their photographer should be able to figure it out.

That's crazy, because it seems like such a simple modification for the photographer to make...like simply reducing the digital image size to fit the specs!

Whatever you do, do NOT send passport photos because they will NOT be accepted.
