Where to get bank draft in ABU DHABI..

Hi all,

I was used to get bank draft for canada through al fardan money exchange but unfortunately they said they stopped issueing the drafts, i went to other places like alansari and uae exchange but all said the same,so i wonder where to get bank drafts in abu dhabi, i heard some banks can do that, but do i have to have an account with them or not plz any advise would help.

No i couldnt find,eventually i made it through dubai islamic bank where i have account,hope lvo can encash it

Were you not able to find Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank as per the previous link or did they refuse to issue a bank draft? Good thing is that ultimately you managed to get your work done whether from ADIB or DIB! If you had made it payable to 'Receiver General for Canada' and had send it to the right address following the instructions in the website, CIC will en-cash it. You can check with the bank later to find the status of your draft if your bank entertain such requests.

somehow the ppl at ADIB didnt understand my request......i tried to talk to them by phone and ask them ....finally they said we dont have bank draft to canada.....and other guy told u should have an account here.....so i tried ADCB and they asked to open an account, thats when i decided to check with DIB since i got an account and hardly was able to get the band draft,i think they r not used to it.......the teller from DIB also didnt understand my request only when i showed him a copy from al fardan bank draft then he got the idea and made one......my concern is that ,i found a nother guy here in the forum who got bank draft from ADCB and lvo returned his drat....they said for domicile issues.....dont know what that means either ,ever since i am worried,the teller from DIB told me to come myself to the bank to check if the draft was encashed or not he said i wont tell u by phone u must come urself.....!!!!

Hello to all,

Is there any updates on how we can get bank draft in dubai or abudhabi? Where and how? Because in Al Falah exchange, it is not available now and they are not sure when will be available. And I also called on some exchange but it was all the same, they are not issuing anymore this bank draft. Your responds are highly appreciated. just need it urgent..Thanks a lot.

try international banks,or the bank u have an account with,but make sure they have link with a canadian bank so CIC can enash ur money from that canadian bank.and write ur name and file number on the back of ur draft afterwords.

Is that the only option? How about if I have account in NBD but used only for salary purpose? can I use it? And how's the process will be goin? Many thanks for your quick response..

i am not sure whether if that the only option or not i advise u to ask seniors like qorax and PMM,but it was the easiest option for as i have account with dubai islamic bank and also i have only saving account with them but the process was easy,it helps if u have copy of an old bank draft from al fardan or anywhere else becuz some tellers r not that aware of the bank draft cheque,ask ur bank customer service for such issue...or as i told u try international banks like HSBC Royal bank..etc.....make some calls.

I've tried in all exchange here in al ain, but they told me that they are no longer processing bank draft.
