I applied to sponsor my mother in Jan 2014. Today I got an email saying that I have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. But it also says that the application has been forwarded to CPC-Ottawa, which is a surprise. I was expecting it to go to New Delhi (since my mom lives in India). Anybody knows how long from now?
Can you please share the date that received the application? Thx

Hi. I'm new to the forum. We applied to sponsor my parents in January 2014. Our application was received at CIC on 17th Jan and we're yet to receive any update from them....

I have a question regarding changing one's email address with CIC. I no longer have access to the email address I had originally used and 3 attempts to update my email address using the webform mentioned seem to have failed as the CIC reps have told me that they have no record of ever having received the webform from me!

Has anyone successfully updated their information using this webform?

Thanks!

I have same situation and have changed my email address in last August. I hope it did change on my file.
Who can I call to confirm?

You can reach CIC on 1-888-242-2100. They are difficult to get a hold of. I've found that calling first thing at 8am seems to be the best time. Good luck!

I have receive the same approval letter from CIC as you did through email today. And my file has been transferred to CPC-Ottawas as well but my parents living in China. It surprised me too. I guess it is the new process?

Our application was received on Jan 2, 2014. We just got an email with a request to provide Option C Prints for 3 years prior to the applicaion. We've requested copies from CRA, but does anyone know what this means?

When did they receive your application and started processing?

Parent Sponsorship Application reached CPC-M on Jan 3, 2014 11:15am - fingures crossed. :)

Please update your date and time here so we can check at later stage to see when 5000 cap was reached.

This looks like great news guys! People are starting to get Sponsor approval now CPC-M. And for those files that will be forwarded to Ottawa I think processing will be fast too. I am just guessing but the files Ottawa processes might be completed in a year. Anyone has any input on the processing times if file sent to ottawa?

I'm on the same boat, I submitted NOAs (according to the list of requirements, it was either NOAs or Option C printouts)...but they still required Option C printouts. I guess it just means our approval for sponsorship would be delayed for a couple more months.
I'm just grateful that they're working on PGP files, and they have already touched our files. ;)

I'm not sure where you guys find that NOA or Option C, it was Option C mandatory for the 2014, it may have changed later. I clearly remember waiting for option C as it was the only option given then.

i 100% agree. It was Option C only for 2014. My friends file was sent back (he applied with me in 2014) and he applied again on 2015 because he didn't provided Option C. You guys are so lucky.

This is not true. For 2014 there was option to submit either Option C or NOA. In the Document Checklist [IMM 5771 (12-2013) E] it was specifically mentioned as below:

5. Option C print out or Notice of Assessment (NOA) issued by the Canadian Revenue Agency for each of the three most recent taxation years.
Note: If your spouse or common-law partner is a co-signer, provide the same.

I think there was an option... I recall I had to request a copy of one of my NOA's so went for all 3 Option C's, just to be on the safe side... I remember just putting together the strongest application.
Either way, it doesn't really matter if they're just requesting you send them in, it's not hard to get a copy... and they're not rejecting you or anything.

And just a quick up date for anyone following... The permanent residency application part on ecase for my mum has now also changed to In Process ... this can only be a good thing :) Good luck all.
