Could someone help me please? I'm having issues with form IMM5768E - Financial Evaluation.
What do I have to put in box 8 "Minimum Necessary Income"? Is for family of three I have to add a total of $46,354+$45,040+$44,229 from a Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship?
Next question is box 9. If I have e.g. $50,000 in 2013, $55,000 in 2012 and $60,000 in 2013 I have to add them up and input a total of these three (plus total of the same three amounts for my wife since she's a co-signer)?
Many thanks!

Fellow members,

I am confused here with the minimum income. I read the forum and people have mentioned that the amount in the chart given on cic website is including the 30%. However when I called CIC and asked them they said that income mentioned plus 30%. Please someone give an insight on this. Thanks in advance.

This should clear up any issues.

Financial requirement
Question 7: Add the numbers entered in boxes for questions 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and write the total number of persons.

Note. Consult the Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship which illustrates the minimum income you must have to sponsor your family.

The guide list the minimum income requirement to sponsor, thus includes 30% in the income equation.

Federal Income Table for sponsors of parents and grandparents

The following table applies to residents of all provinces except Quebec. For each of the three consecutive taxation years preceding the date on which the application is submitted to CIC, the sponsor (and co-signer, if applicable) must meet the Minimum Necessary Income, which is based on the Low Income Cut-offs plus 30%.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have read the link that you have pasted, but when I called CIC on friday the person on the phone told me that the income mentioned in the guide list only states the minimum income, which DOES NOT include the 30% and asked me to include the 30% on the mentioned income, which really sounded weird and added to my confusion.

CIC call agents are not 100% reliable in giving accurate information.

Finally I can access the application status on-line. ;D

Congrats. Mine still doesn't work. Did you have you use your Client ID+sponsor info or did you use Application ID+Parent info?

Hi.. I am also confused.. as per my understanding BOX 9 is the sum of the 3 years and BOX 8 is the amount as per table, in my case 29,440 for 2 persons....

We can compare notes as we prepare so we will not miss anything.

You may PM me.

Thanks.

I received an email on June 9th 2014 that my application has been accepted as one of the 5,000 applications for the 2014 intake year.

Today, December 12th 2014, I called the CIC Call Centre to check the status of my application. The agent asked me if my application has been approved for processing and I told the agent that I got an email saying my application has been accepted as one of the 5000 application for the 2014. The agent told me the email I received was just an initial confirmation but it does not mean that my application has been approved for processing. I asked the agent when can I expect the application to be approved and how long will it take to process after the approval. The agent replied the approval should be pretty soon and the processing won't take 5 years as it used to be but can't tell exactly how long.

It sounds like the acceptance email we received is not a confirmation of the application being approved for processing and the processing time for the approved 2014 application is also unknown.

This is the actual income requirement including 30% on LICO..so just follow this which is on their website and Call centre ppl are not 100% reliable as you have been told.

Here is the actual numbers on cic website.

Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

Size of Family Unit Minimum Income Minimum Income Minimum Income
2012 2013 2011

2 persons $37,708 $36,637 $35,976

3 persons $46,354 $45,040 $44,229

4 persons $56,280 $54,685 $53,699

5 persons $63,833 $62,023 $60,905

6 persons $71,991 $69,950 $68,689

7 persons $80,153 $77,879 $76,475

If more than 7 persons, for each additional person, add $8,148 $7,929 $ 7,786

The Minimum Necessary Income requirement, which you must meet for each of the three years preceding the date of your application, is equal to the Low Income Cut-Offs (LICO) plus 30%.

Note: If you are applying in 2015, you must provide proof of income from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for the taxation years of 2013, 2012, 2011.

In the NEW financial eval form you cannot fill the boxes for Q:9 electronically because those boxes get automatically filled by calculating the values you enter in question #16 and 19.

Hi Guys, The email that I got in June, I can find my application number that start with F000, this is UCI number?
