New Stricter Criteria; Improved Application Forms; Max number of application cap implemented; Improved support documentation requirements.
Sadly 5 months and still no news. (Other than taking my money in January 2014; I still do not know if they even received my application.)
Better process yet same delay. Super disappointed.

Just curious here. What was the average timeline to get AOR from CIC under the old PGP rules. Does anyone know or remember?

That doesn't bode well for those who wants an AOR before the end of the year before 2015 PGP begin again. Again it is the new PGP rules so who knows when AOR will actually arrive.

So they stalled all the apps till upto Sept 2007 then in Nov 2011 - then bundled all up and asked for Docs in Nov 2011 > this was 1st come 1st serve, you sent paperwork , AOR from CIC-M came in 6 weeks, then file xfer to CPP-O or LVO

But I do remember getting acknowledgement back in 2010 that they ve' got the app, and it will take time, no real confirmation that it will be in process

At this time, CIC is working on files till May 2010 and they have to still process May 2010-Oct2011 - keeping in mind the backlog and per year quota - once these are done, only then will these new apps be looked at

They might get an AOR of making the cut but I believe that'll be all

I agree that AIP will never come this year, otherwise I have got to look for a bridge to buy. I am hoping that those waiting for at least AOR will come this year will have the satisfaction of knowing the application at least made it through, regardless if they qualify or not down the road.

I guess for now the only way to be sure the application made it, is by checking if the payment was charged by CIC.

If not, better start preparing another package for 2015...

The AOR takes long time, it used to be 24 months under the old PGP. I remember getting back my original NOA after like 2 yrs, they returned after they made a copy of it, lol. I got all excited seeing envelope from CIC but it was just returning original docs. Nothing else.

Seems the quotas are not being increased to eliminate the backlogs....there is still considerable backlog even at visa offices which will take forever to finish unless they increase # of visas/COPRs. It was good effort to increase quotas to 25k per year....but it should've been kept until all backlog was done. Going back to 8k or 10k visas per year is not enough and it will cause backlog to remain at visa offices. Work is very slow on these.

Hi! I am Jenn I'll be accompanying my parents going to canada, my Father(principal sponsor) for the Parent Sponsorship under Family Class.

I think it was back 2009 when we freshly applied for it then few years later 2012 emails and documents were asked. Then this 2013 we are asked to have our medical exam and results shall be given to them together with the passports for VISA Processing. But, now we're starting to worry on how long does it take to wait.. Our medical results shall end/expire this September 2014 and yet there's still no email or call from them.

Should we call them or go directly in their office instead to follow up. Because sending them emails wont give us clear status of our appliacation.

(or does anyone here works for the canadian embassy manila, to follow up our application will give you the details instead? Cheesy)

Can you help us? Smiley

They don't reply to all emails - you cannot do anything to expedite as they follow their own procedure - if you meds expire, they will ask for remeds - but will not issue visa before they finish their routine work
Your family needs to apply for GCMS notes ( see my signature video ) - it's basically "Access to Information" and can be ordered by your sponsor - it will tell you whats happening with your file, you can keep ordering it to see progress on your file
Going to the embassy won't help, they won't even let you in for query

I think we should've had some clear ideas around this Sept or Oct. Because CIC asked credit card at least 9 months valid. So at that time if the documents are not satisfied for them to issue a file number, they will return the money back to the credit card except $70 processing fee.
