Is CIC continuing their 25k visas/year to clear exisiting backlogs ?
Hope the visa offices can clear all the pending cases so that they can work on new ones.

Otherwise even the new PGP people will be waiting for long times for processing.

I'm afraid you cannot make another application whilst one is still in progress. See Question #6: "Have you submitted a previous application in respect of which a final decision has not been made for the person being sponsored and their family members?" on form: IMM 1344 (Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking) under "Sponsor Eligibility Assessment", i.e. page #2 of 7 of that form. The application guide says "If you answer “Yes” to any question between 5 and 15, You are not eligible to be a sponsor. You should not submit an application."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5772ETOC.asp#completeApplication

If you intend to reapply in Jan 2015 for any reason, you will need to withdraw your current application, get confirmation from CPC-M of the withdrawal and then re-apply in Jan 2015.
Thanks Nina for providing a detailed response to the subject matter. This should put the issue to rest to those who may think about reapplying. They have to learn to be patience and hopefully CIC issues AOR's before the end of the year. Otherwise there will be a lot of restless 2014 PGP sponsors waiting in 2015 PGP.

Here's to hoping that CIC will clear old PGP applications soon but knowing CIC's track record, I suspects it will be a long time maybe by 2016 before 2014 PGP applications gets cracked open.

No, for 2014 and 2015 they are allocating 20,000 visas/year. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/backgrounders/2013/2013-10-29a.asp

At these levels and with current 5K caps, it's expected by 2015 there will still be 42,387 apps on backlog

Hi Guys,
I did received the whole package today-unopened with a letter from 15April,said that unfortunatelly my application was received aftef the 5000 cap was reached. The letter states that in Jan.2015 this program will re-open,but the details will be available closer to the date.My application was received on 21 Jan around 2pm.My credit card was not charged
At least I have all the documents(birth certificate, ect),so I don't have to get new ones.
Funny, but I am not that upset(even though I am sure that was a matter of hours-some apps.received in the morning got in).
I don't think it's much diference if I am the last this year or one of the first next :)
Hope this info helps and good luck to all applicants

I shall pose the question again,

Other than nina.roy, has any other applicants received AOR letters from CIC yet?

Thanks.
I have not received my AOR yet. My CC was charged...
I called the CIC in February asking about the AOR, the agent told me that AORs should be submitted in 2-3 months

So it seems other than nina.roy, no one has received the AOR. I find that strange, after all it's been a few weeks now since that first report of AOR on this forum. One would think at least someone would have gotten the letter, at least for the ones who submitted their apps early January.

It's quite normal. From the 5000 applications submitted this year the amount of people who posted here is less than 5%. So it's entirely possible that many people received their AORs now but are not members of this forum.

My application was received in Mississauga at 8 am on Jan 2, and I have not yet received an AOR

Paid by check. So i wonder if the credit card ones will get AOR sooner because they went through another stream?

A friend of mine sent her mom`s application in January (24) and CIC returned it with a letter informing that the cap was reached.

Now (in April) she received another letter from CIC asking her to resend the application.

Has anyone received this letter?

They probably gave the initial 5000 applications a quick scan, and are now reviewing them more closely and rejecting those that do not meet the criteria. Luckily they seem to be asking for additional application from those that just missed the cut, to get back up to 5000!
