when will the originals be returned

Hi,
I am a bit nervous about sending the original transcripts of university degrees and IELTS reults to the CIC office. How long will it take them to return back after the initial complete filing. At which stage will they return the original documents.

I just got my visa today and in the package they sent back the university transcripts.
I did not need to do IELTS, but I would imagine that they also come back at the same time.

So they will be holding on to the application for a period of 6-12 months if everything goes well. Boy that's a pretty long time. How long did it take from the date you filed to the date you received the visa package.

Hi,

it took 12 months. We applied in July 2009.
I started a "visa received " post yesterday - have a look at it to get an idea of the timeline.

there is no hard and fast rule for returning originals but usually it is done after positive initial assessment prior or with meds
